Job description

About us
SwimOutlet is the largest online specialty retailer for swimming and water sports in the US, and part of Spiraledge, whose brands include EverydayYoga, Swim.com, Practyce and Tend. We are a small marketing team running roughly nine million dollars a year of paid media in house across about ten channels, and we move fast.
The role
You own SwimOutlet's organic social presence end to end, and you own the production of our social and paid social creative. Publishing and scheduling are part of it, and so is repurposing what we already have. We are looking for a maker: someone who shoots and edits video, produces UGC, cuts motion graphics and builds statics, and who can make content that is authentically of the swim world and content that actually sells product. Knowing the difference between those two things is most of the job.
You will have internal design and digital media support and a freelance budget to extend your capacity. The output is still yours.
You will also run our ambassador program as a measurable channel, manage community, and work weekly with the CMO on the paid content pipeline.
What you will own
Content production
  • Make the work. You are our primary producer of social and paid social creative across short-form video, UGC, motion graphics and statics.
  • Shoot and edit on demand and on location, including on a pool deck and at meets, around launches and campaign moments.
  • Produce a consistent pipeline of testable creative for Meta and our other paid social channels, agreeing weekly with the CMO on what to make next.
  • Direct and produce UGC through our ambassador roster and creator network.
  • Publish and schedule across our channels. This is a hands-on role and posting is part of it.
  • Repurpose what we already have into new formats and placements: cutting longer footage into shorts, reworking UGC into paid ads, adapting statics across surfaces
  • Use our internal designers, the digital media team and external freelancers to extend your capacity. They support the output, you own it.
  • Use AI tools wherever they genuinely speed things up: ideation, scripting, editing and generation. Example: Higgsfield flow with Nano Banana Pro and Seedance 2.0 usage.

Channel strategy and operations
  • Own SwimOutlet's (and internal private label, Sporti) organic social presence end to end across prioritized channels: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts.
  • Run a full audit of our branded social channels in your first 60 days and recommend what to prioritize, maintain or sunset.
  • Operate those channels to a high standard: planning, production, publishing, community management and performance tracking.

Creative testing and performance
  • Lead creative ideation and testing for paid social: hooks, angles, copy, formats.
  • Meet weekly with the CMO to review paid creative performance and agree what to produce more of.
  • Own creative-side performance analysis: CTR, CPM, thumbstop rate, hook rate, hold rate, engagement rate and outbound CTR.
  • Turn that analysis into clear calls on which angles and formats to double down on.

Community and ambassador program
  • Run the ambassador program as a measurable channel, including UGC and influencer sourcing within it.
  • Recruit, brief, track output and evaluate ROI per ambassador, and refine the roster toward the highest-value partners.
  • Manage community engagement across DMs, comments and tagged content.
  • Escalate anything sensitive on PR, CX or legal with good judgement about what needs to come to me.

Product and merchandising alignment
  • Keep a clear feed of prioritization inputs from the buying and planning teams so social reflects business priorities.
  • Surface priority products, launches and promotional moments through our existing marketing meetings.

Performance reporting
  • Present weekly on organic performance: followers, reach, engagement rate and content-level standouts.
  • Identify what is working organically and apply it to paid where relevant.

Trend and platform literacy
  • Stay current on platform changes across TikTok, Reels, Threads, YouTube Shorts and whatever comes next. Be on top of trends of styles of content. Must be very open minded, creative and look at trends outside of the immediate swimming world, to identify opportunities across broader DTC industries.
  • Monitor competitors and category trends in swim and adjacent DTC.
  • Be our in-house voice on what is working on social right now.

Brand voice
  • Steward SwimOutlet's voice and tone across organic, paid social and community
  • Maintain a lightweight voice reference so consistency holds as output scales.
  • Manage Tolstoy shoppable video for on-site and retention relevance.

What we are looking for
  • You make the work yourself. You shoot, edit, cut motion graphics and design statics to a standard we are happy to put paid spend behind. This is the single most important thing on this list.
  • Comfortable producing on location. On a pool deck, at a meet, early, not only at a desk
  • Fluent in whichever production tools you prefer, whether that is Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, Figma or Canva. We care about the output, not the logo on the software.
  • Owned organic social for a consumer brand or a retailer end to end, as the person accountable for it.
  • Demonstrable paid social creative experience. You can show ads you made and what they did commercially, not just what they looked like.
  • Experience running an ambassador, creator or influencer program with real accountability for output.
  • Community management judgement, including knowing what to escalate.
  • Comfort with performance data. You know what a hook rate is and why it matters.
  • Genuine knowledge of the swim, aquatics or endurance sport world, or a credible route to it. Our audience can tell immediately when content is made by someone who does not know the sport.
  • Working fluency with AI tools for content production is a plus, not a requirement.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Generous employee discount on SwimOutlet products.
  • Home-office / remote-work support and covered business travel.

How to apply
Send a CV and, more importantly, three to five examples of content you made yourself. Include at least one video you shot and edited, and at least one motion or static ad. For each, tell us what it was for and how it performed.
The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 85,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
