About the role
We have recently launched our direct-to-consumer platform that gives women access to GLP-1 care, hormone care, and 30+ healthcare specialties, connecting metabolic, hormonal, reproductive, mental, and physical health in one care experience. We are building for women who are tired of fragmented care, unclear pricing, limited follow-up, and healthcare experiences that treat each symptom or life stage in isolation.
What You'll Do:
  • We're looking for a founding Product Design Lead to help build and scale Maven's direct-to-consumer healthcare experiences.
  • This role sits at the intersection of consumer growth, healthcare access, product craft, AI-native ways of working, and trust-sensitive design.
  • It is a hands-on player-coach role with formal line management responsibility. You'll lead a small team of senior Product Design/UXR practitioners while also owning high-priority product design work yourself.
  • You'll report to the General Manager, Consumer and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, Data, Clinical, Legal, Operations, and Support teams.
  • You will help Maven compete in a fast-moving and highly competitive consumer healthcare market while staying true to what makes Maven different: connected, clinically responsible, whole-person care for women.
  • You will be designing for users who are actively comparing options, making decisions quickly, weighing affordability, navigating uncertainty, and deciding whether they trust Maven enough to start and continue care.
  • The work will span both 0→1 product development and continuous optimization of live consumer journeys. You'll help define new journeys, shape concepts, prototype, and bring new consumer healthcare offerings to market, while also improving existing funnels, onboarding, eligibility, pricing, payment, prescription, activation, retention, and cross-sell experiences through research, experimentation, data, and design craft.

What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years of product design experience, including complex consumer product journeys and 0→1 product growth.
  • Experience formally managing or leading design teams.
  • Strong hands-on product design craft across UX, prototyping, visual design, mobile apps, and responsive web.
  • A portfolio showing D2C product design leadership, systems thinking, data-driven decision-making, high-quality execution, and measurable product impact.
  • Experience designing products where trust, comprehension, eligibility, pricing, access, personal data, or complex decision-making play a central role.
  • Experience with growth, onboarding, conversion, activation, retention, cross-sell, monetization, or lifecycle journeys, informed by research, data and experimentation.
  • A strong AI-native workflow and informed opinions on how AI can improve design quality, team capacity, and business value.

We'd especially love to see
  • Experience in healthcare, women's health, telehealth, digital health, insurance, fintech, marketplaces, consumer subscriptions, or another regulated or trust-sensitive domain.
  • Experience designing products involving insurance, benefits, prescriptions, clinical eligibility, payments, care navigation, or personal health information.
  • Experience designing in a competitive direct-to-consumer category where acquisition, conversion, trust, differentiation, and retention all matter.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in the United States, with a strong preference for those based in San Francisco.
The base salary range for this role is $195,000-$230,000 per year. You will also be entitled to equity and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
