How does a Remote Construction Risk Management professional typically collaborate with onsite teams to identify and mitigate project risks?

Remote Construction Risk Management professionals frequently use digital tools—such as project management platforms, video conferencing, and real-time reporting software—to maintain close communication with onsite teams. They participate in virtual meetings, review project documentation, and analyze data to proactively identify potential risks. Regular collaboration ensures that any safety, scheduling, or budget concerns are addressed quickly, despite the physical distance. Building strong working relationships and maintaining clear lines of communication with site managers and contractors are key to successfully mitigating risks remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Remote Construction Risk Management, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Construction Risk Management, you need a solid background in construction processes, risk assessment, and project management, often supported by a relevant degree or certification like PMP or CRM. Familiarity with risk analysis software, construction management platforms, and regulatory compliance tools is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and clear communication skills are essential for effectively identifying and mitigating risks remotely. These competencies ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with safety standards, even when managed from a distance.

Remote construction risk management involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks on construction projects without being physically present on-site. Professionals in this field use digital tools, such as project management software, video conferencing, and real-time data analytics, to monitor progress, ensure compliance, and address potential issues from a distance. This approach enables teams to maintain oversight, enforce safety standards, and manage costs efficiently, even when working remotely. It is especially valuable for projects spanning multiple locations or during situations where in-person site visits are limited.

About Rubix

At Rubix, we design and deliver end-to-end AI data center infrastructure — from site origination and development through to long-term operations. We partner with customers to scale AI with speed, efficiency, and sustainability, backed by secured land, power access, and accelerated delivery models. Rubix is part of the Submer Group, delivering the infrastructure and platforms AI runs on.

What You'll Do

The Vice President, Delivery (Americas) will lead the end-to-end execution of U.S.-based data center development, with full accountability for transforming secured land and power into operational, revenue-generating assets. This role is central to scaling a high-performance delivery platform across multiple U.S. markets, with a strong emphasis on construction execution, schedule certainty, and customer readiness.

  • Own the full lifecycle delivery of U.S. data center projects, from design oversight through procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover
  • Lead a multi-site portfolio of hyperscale and colocation developments, including greenfield builds, expansions, renovations, and customer deployments
  • Establish and drive a best-in-class construction-led delivery model, ensuring predictable outcomes across cost, schedule, and quality
  • Direct all construction operations, including contractor selection, commercial strategy, site execution, and field performance across multiple concurrent builds
  • Partner closely with development and design teams to ensure constructability, cost discipline, and alignment between development assumptions and execution realities
  • Drive commissioning and turnover excellence, ensuring facilities meet mission-critical performance standards and are ready for customer occupancy and SLAs
  • Own delivery risk management, including schedule compression, change management, supply chain constraints, and critical power infrastructure dependencies
  • Build and scale a high-performing U.S. delivery organization, including regional leaders, project directors, and construction teams
  • Leverage deep contractor and vendor relationships to improve speed-to-market and execution consistency
  • Engage directly with executive stakeholders, customers, and capital partners to provide transparency on delivery performance and pipeline readiness
What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex infrastructure or data center projects across multiple geographies
  • Proven track record of leading end-to-end data center delivery (design, construction, commissioning)
  • Strong understanding of power infrastructure, mission-critical systems, and data center design standards
  • Experience operating in high-growth or platform build environments, not just steady-state organizations
  • Ability to build and lead diverse, cross-border teams and manage contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness across CAPEX, contracting, and delivery risk management

What we offer

  • Attractive compensation package reflecting your expertise and experience.

  • A great work environment characterised by friendliness, international diversity, flexibility, and a hybrid-friendly approach.

  • You´ll be part of a fast-growing scale-up with a mission to make a positive impact, offering an exciting career evolution.

Rubix offers competitive compensation including base pay, performance incentives, and benefits.

Our job titles may span more than one job level. The actual base pay is dependent on a number of factors, such as transferable skills, location, work experience, business needs and market demands.
