The Role
The Wood Project team are seeking an experienced Construction Manager, office based in Greensville, to support an active portfolio of sustaining capital projects within a large-scale Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) projects. This role will be heavy in supporting proposals, preconstruction, contracts, project control and cost control.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project specific construction management procedures
  • Implement the overall Project Execution Plan, and perform those activities needed to construct the facility and pre-commission it for startup
  • Assisting with the delivery and timely execution of the project/contract/service and ensure the contract requirements are satisfied
  • Ensure technical and quality requirements are understood and complied with and prepare quality plans and documents in accordance with the relevant project, statutory and legislative requirements
  • Assists in management and control of construction cost and schedule
  • Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Deliver against agreed planned work scopes ensuring obligations are met
  • Provide advanced technical discipline input to scope definition and execution
  • If identified, react to change in scope, inform necessary parties and complete the necessary change management documentation
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Provides significant coaching, mentoring and guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Manages RFI and Field Change Process, maintains documentation and logs as necessary
  • Coordinates with Vendors for topics such as Technical Support, Site Visits, Delivery Issues
  • Responsible for assisting with the development of the PMP/PEP, bid submissions, construction methodology and strategies
  • Provide construction technical support to the customer and the Wood engineering team, throughout the FEED and detailed design phases of a project
  • Work with project controls in developing the build sequence/construction schedule and proactively risk managing of the schedule
  • Provides input to the contracting strategy and during bid clarification process
  • Contribute advanced discipline experience to the ongoing development of project work methods, processes and team development
  • Collaborate to identify required material and equipment
  • Identify change requests
  • Communicating with stakeholders where required
  • Review construction documents and submittals
  • Prepare Reports

  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent small capital projects ($100K-$10M)
  • Experience managing construction activities
  • Proven capability supervising all construction trades across mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, piping, and process disciplines
  • Experience working within an EPCM program structure
  • Strong understanding of construction in cGMP environments, process systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure
  • Currently authorized to work in USA without sponsorship from Wood
  • Proficiency in document creation and editing (Microsoft Office Products such as Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are necessary in order to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing requirements to a wide range of client groups (internal and external)
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently, or in a team environment, and provide leadership, support, direction, and consultation
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills to meet project deadlines
  • Willingness to travel, participate in activities, network and build relationships
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to organize, analyze and report on various parameters and data sets
  • Ability to proactively detect challenges to safety, quality, cost and schedule that will ensure development and execution of effective prevention, mitigation, or corrective actions
