What you will do

The Construction Project Scheduler will work closely with Construction Project Managers to lead the planning & CPM scheduling efforts on multiple high impact construction projects. This role will also actively contribute to Corporate Initiatives including, but not limited to, training development and delivery, data analytics, trend identification and reporting.

How you will do it:

  • Development of master project schedules

  • Development of detailed construction schedules

  • Data entry of activities, durations, and sequences (predecessors / successors) into MS Project

  • Schedule updating process - collecting progress and incorporating into scheduling software

  • Reporting - Preparing schedule update reports and graphics per Contract requirements

  • Schedule analysis:Developing and analyzing the impact issues have on the project schedule. Collecting scheduling metrics and creating spreadsheets / databases to interpret and visualize the data

  • Understand and implement accepted Planning & Scheduling Best Practices

  • Technical Review - Reviewing the project schedule's quality and performance

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and statements of work in the preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction

  • Monitor multiple project schedules and update Operations staff and provide guidance as necessary

  • Interact with the Operations team and represent Johnson Controls, Inc. and its partners in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives

  • Development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with executive management and present to selection committees if required

  • Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during the execution of the project

  • Evaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan

  • Analyze and communicate the impact of changes to the schedule

  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practicesby commonly accepted standards

  • Develop and deliver specialized Planning and Scheduling training for Johnson Controls, Inc.

  • Critique, create, and recommend improvements to departmental policies and procedures

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred

  • 3+ years scheduling experience on commercial construction projects

  • Working proficiency in MS Project software

  • Proven success implementing strategic initiatives

  • Detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance

  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with owners, subcontractors, senior leaders and project teams

  • High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and integrity

  • Working proficiency in MS Project software
