Position Summary
The OSP Construction Laborer is responsible for assisting the OSP crew to ensure projects are completed in a safe and cost-effective manner, while meeting customer deadlines. This position is responsible for assisting with on-site installation of both underground and aerial fiber optic cable.
*We're hiring crews to report directly to our Glendale and Beaver Dam yard locations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with all facets of constructing fiber optic cable and/or strand to include digging, pulling and hanging fiber optic cable, duct or strand
  • Assist in restoring jobsites to condition found prior to beginning work
  • Assist Foreman in ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner, meeting customer requirements
  • Communicate with Foreman, Project Managers, OSP Manager and other coworkers about project status
  • Actively participate in the maintenance of tools, equipment and vehicles owned by the company
  • Drive trucks and equipment to job sites
  • Set up construction zones and perform traffic control
  • Perform on call duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have valid Driver's License and be insurable- Class A CDL highly preferred
  • One or more years' experience in cable construction is preferred
  • Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
