Position Summary
The responsibility of the Senior Application Analyst is to provide a detailed level of analysis, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of Business Systems and other related systems across the organization. The position supports other application analysts and is expected to take control and lead projects. A Senior Application Analyst also works closely with internal staff members as well as others like MD practices, facilities, and agencies to ensure that systems are reliable and responsive to corporate and each organization's needs. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills that include technical vocabulary.
Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
Exhibits an understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as the primary analyst for MEDITECH Health Information Management (HIM) applications, including design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and optimization activities.
  • Analyze, document, and support HIM workflows to ensure efficient and compliant management of patient health information.
  • Configure and maintain MEDITECH HIM dictionaries, parameters, rules, forms, templates, and security settings.
  • Collaborate with operational HIM leadership and end users to identify business needs and develop system solutions that improve workflow efficiency and data integrity.
  • Lead requirements gathering, solution design, testing, training, implementation, and post-go-live support for HIM-related projects and enhancements.
  • Perform application troubleshooting, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and vendor coordination for production incidents.
  • Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and validation activities for upgrades, patches, and system changes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, CMS requirements, state regulations, and organizational policies related to health information management.
  • Support electronic document management, scanning workflows, chart completion processes, deficiency management, release of information, and record retention functions.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify opportunities for workflow improvement, automation, and standardization.
  • Participate in MEDITECH upgrades, migrations, conversions, and new module implementations.
  • Provide advanced support for interfaces and integrated systems affecting HIM operations, including EMR, document imaging, and third-party applications.
  • Create and maintain application documentation, workflow diagrams, support procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Facilitate user training sessions and provide mentorship to analysts, super users, and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Revenue Cycle, Clinical Informatics, Compliance, Privacy, IT Infrastructure, and vendors.
  • Function as a subject matter expert for MEDITECH HIM applications and related healthcare information management processes.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Bachelor's Degree preferred

    10+ years' experience with Meditech
