Job Title: Software QA Engineer – 3D/CAD Platforms (Automation Focus)
Job Location: (Remote), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Experience: 3 to 5 Years
Rate: 55 to 60 CAD PH

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Software QA Engineer to drive quality engineering initiatives for advanced 3D and CAD-based applications. This role involves contributing to enterprise-grade platforms supporting desktop, mobile, and web environments. The selected candidate will play a critical role in ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performance product releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end testing of highly interactive applications across desktop, mobile, and web platforms
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using modern frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement acceptance criteria and test strategies
  • Drive the creation and maintenance of comprehensive test plans aligned with ongoing feature development
  • Investigate automation failures, triage defects, and ensure accurate reporting in bug tracking systems
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and code generation
  • Execute testing on nightly and pre-release builds to identify issues early in the development lifecycle
  • Contribute across agile sprint cycles, supporting design, development, and deployment phases
  • Communicate testing coverage, system capabilities, and quality metrics to stakeholders
  • Champion best practices in test automation and quality engineering across the organization

Must-Have Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of experience testing complex interactive applications across desktop, mobile, and web platforms
  • Proficient in building automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining test plans for continuous feature development
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, automation strategies, and quality reporting practices
  • Experience testing pre-release or nightly builds in development environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present and document effectively in English

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience testing 3D applications for modeling and visualization
  • Familiarity with CAD tools such as Fusion, Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks
  • Experience integrating automated test suites within pipelines
