Job description

The Remote Legal Assistant will work closely with the Paralegal and Legal Team to provide essential support in eviction case management, legal document preparation, court coordination, and overall legal administrative operations.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while ensuring cases progress smoothly from initial review through resolution.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who wants to expand their legal career, gain hands-on experience supporting U.S. legal processes, and become an integral part of a growing Legal Team focused on building efficient and scalable legal operations.

What You’ll Do

Support Eviction Case Management

You will help manage and monitor eviction cases throughout the legal process by:

  • Manage legal timelines and workflows using our in-house case management system

  • Coordinate process service with third-party providers

  • File cases electronically (or by mail, where required) with courts across WA

  • Prepare and track hearing schedules, filings, service affidavits

  • Collaborate with our Paralegal for supervision and sign-off

  • Maintain accurate records of all legal actions per property and tenant

  • Track expenses and legal billings for all cases

Legal Document Preparation & Filing Support

You will assist in preparing accurate and complete legal documentation by:

  • Notices (10-day comply/vacate

  • 3-day nuisance, 20-day no-cause, etc.)

  • Summons & Complaints Declarations and exhibits

  • Motions for default, writs of restitution, stipulations

Improve Legal Operations & Processes

Beyond daily legal support, you will help improve how the department operates by:

  • Maintaining and improving workflows within the case management system

  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual work

  • Documenting workflow issues and recommending improvements

  • Assisting with reports, tracking, and legal department metrics

Required Qualifications

  • Law Graduate, Law Student, Political Science, or related field preferred

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal Assistant, or legal administrative support role preferred

  • Experience with landlord-tenant law, and eviction cases

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Experience supporting U.S. legal processes and court filing procedures

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Comfortable using legal software, case management systems, and document management platforms

Working Hours

  • Full-time remote position (40 hours per week).

  • Must be available to work during Pacific Time (PT) business hours.

  • Standard schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT (or as assigned by the company), including a one-hour unpaid meal break.

  • Must maintain consistent attendance, punctuality, and timely communication throughout the scheduled shift.
