Job description

Work Unit: Operations and Strategy (O&S) provides support services to help CDHS's offices, divisions and programs achieve their goals and make our agency as efficient, effective and impactful as possible.

It also ensures the operational efficiency and effectiveness of CDHS by crafting and executing the Department's strategic plan and provides oversight of related work stream priorities. The Division of Business Innovation, Technology and Security (BITS) helps CDHS streamline processes to better create alignment across our organization as well as help CDHS build a culture of operational excellence. Our team works to ensure that the technology at CDHS aligns with the department's strategic goals and supports operational and business needs Description of Job HYBRID - 2 days in office; 3 days remote Please note: These working arragements are subject to change Job Description: This position serves as the primary technical expert and business solutions analyst for the AppSheet platform, driving the application lifecycle from requirements to support.

The growth of AppSheet solutions across the HR technology portfolio requires a dedicated position to successfully scale existing and potential new applications for CDHS. This role merges the responsibilities of a Business Analyst with functions that support product management and system administration, acting as a technical specialist for the AppSheet platform. The position will be an expert in AppSheet and is responsible for translating business needs into application configurations, prioritizing work with stakeholders, and providing system-level support.

The position will be an expert in AppSheet but will also cross-train and be available to support the entire HR and Financial Services technology portfolio. Duties Include: AppSheet Application Configuration and System Administration Configuration management Access control and security, provisioning varying levels of user access, and implementing and maintaining role security to ensure appropriate data sharing and compliance with privacy requirements. Approve and grant varying levels of user access to AppSheet applications based on established security controls and business needs.

Determine the best course of action to address and resolve client concerns or system issues within an AppSheet application. Business Process Analysis and Requirements Management Managing product backlog and defining business requirements by collaborating with prospective users and business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria) for AppSheet solutions. Assist in prioritization, helping to manage the product backlog based on changing requirements and business value.

Analyzing existing applications for effectiveness and developing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems via the AppSheet platform. User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Training, and Customer Support Developing and overseeing testing documentation, including test plans, linking testing to requirements, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with internal stakeholders to validate new bug fixes or features. Training and communication, including designing and maintaining training materials, conducting training sessions for system users, and developing and implementing a communication plan to ensure all impacted departments and users are informed of new releases or changes.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights Experience Only: Six (6) years of relevant professional experience, which must include at least six (6) months of technical experience designing, developing, or supporting solutions on the low-code/no code Google AppSheet platform, acquired within the last three (3) years. OR Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant professional experience equal to six (6) years, which must include at least six (6) months of technical experience designing, developing, or supporting solutions on the low-code/no code Google AppSheet platform, acquired within the last three (3) years. Preferred Qualifications: AppSheet Platform Expertise: Proficiency in the Google AppSheet platform, including the ability to configure applications, write complex expressions, build automations/workflows, and manage data source connections.

Business Requirements & Analysis: Proven experience in analyzing business processes and translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements (such as user stories and acceptance criteria) for low-code/no-code solutions. Proactive Problem Solving & Initiative: Exceptional analytical skills with a strong focus on process improvement, an ability to anticipate potential issues, and a drive to independently develop and implement effective solutions. Quality Assurance & Change Management: Demonstrated ability to design and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), develop comprehensive user training materials, and execute release and change management communication plans.

System Security & Administration: Strong understanding of system administration and security best practices, particularly regarding access control, role-based security, and platform configuration management. Independent Project Execution: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effectively manage time in an unstructured environment, and prioritize multiple IT project tasks in a high-pressure setting to meet strict deadlines. Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical audiences across all levels of the organization.

Conditions of Employment: Standard employment background check and reference check required. Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License. This position requires State of Colorado residency at the time of application (unless otherwise identified in the posting), and residency within the state throughout the duration of employment in this position.
