Business Development Manager- Life Science

Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country.  Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere.  In person attendance is required at least once per year for an onsite meeting. 

For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time. #LI-remote

This Opportunity  

As a Business Development Manager at Truveta, you will support sales growth and expand our footprint in the life sciences sector. You will be instrumental in identifying and nurturing leads, developing relationships with potential clients, and supporting our partner team in meeting and exceeding their targets. This role requires a blend of skills in sales, relationship management, and a deep understanding of the life sciences industry. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Become a subject matter expert on Truveta's offerings, effectively communicating our capabilities to advance the research priorities of prospective customers. This role demands a deep understanding of our products and services to ensure reliable representation in all customer interactions.
  • Proactively engage and qualify inbound prospects and leads. Your goal is to create positive first impressions, efficiently building a robust pipeline for our Business Directors. This includes adept handling of initial inquiries and swiftly identifying potential for alignment with our solutions.
  • Utilize available information technology, prospecting tools, and sales strategies to research, identify, and penetrate new accounts. This strategic approach aims to maximize sales growth by uncovering and exploiting opportunities within untapped markets and customer segments.
  • Work in sync with our Demand Generation and Account-Based Marketing teams, supporting ongoing campaigns to generate a strong pipeline. Your role involves contributing insights and strategies that enhance campaign effectiveness and converting campaign efforts into sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with our partner teams to develop targeted lists, strategies, messaging, and outbound campaigns.
  • Engage in both inbound and outbound prospecting efforts to ensure Truveta's reach is maximized across target accounts. This includes a balanced focus on following up with leads generated by marketing efforts and initiating contact with potential customers to introduce Truveta's solutions. 

Key Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field preferred; postgraduate degrees welcomed.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the Life Sciences, Real World Data, or analytics sectors.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding opportunity generation targets and effectively managing inbound and outbound pipelines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to develop external relationships and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools, and proficiency in sales automation tools.
  • Self-motivated, persistent, and able to work independently and part of a team in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving and prioritization.

  • The OTE for this position is $145,000 to $155,000. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for stock options and an uncapped commission model.
