Job description

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Project Manager, Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Greenville, SC; Charlotte, NC; or Cary, NC offices, or remote in or near Tampa, FL.

In this role, the selected candidate will manage environmental site characterization and remediation projects for Energy, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Real Estate clients. The successful candidate will oversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, deliverables, and health and safety performance while coordinating closely with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal technical teams. This position requires strong technical knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation programs, the ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams, and a commitment to mentoring junior staff. Candidates should bring experience developing and implementing site investigation strategies, evaluating environmental data, supporting remedial planning and design, and delivering practical solutions that meet client and regulatory objectives.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day management of project teams with a focus on project delivery, quality, financial performance, and health and safety.
  • Ensure projects are executed to meet project, client, and regulatory objectives.
  • Lead all aspects of the project life cycle including cost estimating and proposal preparation, scheduling, subcontracting, resourcing, project planning, execution, document preparation and review, and financial management.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team, supporting field teams, providing oversight, and observing health and safety processes and procedures.
  • Regularly and effectively communicate with clients, partners, subcontractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
  • Coach, mentor, and support staff to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, technical reports, and deliverables.
  • Plan and manage field investigations, including pre-design data collection and/or pilot testing data collection programs.
  • Lead project technical assessments and design efforts or tasks, including model development, field implementation of bench-scale and field pilot studies, remedial action plans, remedial system installation and O&M, permitting, design and contract package development, and construction procurement support on environmental projects.
  • Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate the company's foundational safety behaviors.
  • Perform and oversee the technical evaluation and interpretation of site characterization and hydrogeologic data, develop conceptual site models and fate and transport models, and work with other multidisciplinary team members to assess the impact to project goals.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
  • P.G. or P.E. license required for geologists or engineers, as applicable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently lead project teams to achieve project and client goals and objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and financial acumen.
  • Proficient computer literacy skills including use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements.
  • Environmental engineering experience that spans the entire project life cycle.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to the work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience managing environmental consulting projects involving site characterization, remediation strategy, regulatory coordination, and client communication.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of related project management, financial management, or task management experience.
  • Demonstrated competency and understanding of soil, groundwater and air treatment technologies.
  • Hydrogeologic experience, including developing site conceptual models and assessment of fate and transport of contaminants.
  • Design and construction experience with environmental remediation projects.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates desirable.
  • Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience supporting Energy, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Real Estate clients.
  • Experience managing projects in the Southeast, including the Carolinas and Florida, is a plus.
