Job Title: Sr. Associate, Artificial Intelligence

Job Description: 

The SMS Artificial Intelligence (AI) team is seeking an individual with strong working knowledge in application development, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to support the research and development of AI solutions that contribute to internal and external product offerings.

Essential Functions: 

  • Work with domain experts to identify which problems can and should be solved with machine learning
  • Clearly translate domain-specific problems into solutions using data-driven models
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of MLOps and data pipelines with the current team
  • Work with multi-domain datasets and phenomenologies to develop effective data plans
  • Perform data curation and exploratory data analysis
  • Ensure proper regression testing, validation, and documentation of ML models
  • Identify relevant pre-trained models and integrate into solution pipelines
  • Identify state-of-the-art (SotA) foundation models and standardize use in larger AI solutions
  • Implement, maintain, and optimize containerization for seamless deployment, scaling of AI / ML workloads, and sharing with other teams for easy reproduction  

Qualifications:

To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or have completed their Master's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proficiency with Differentiable Programming libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Proficiency with Database Manipulation libraries (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Pandas, PySpark)
  • Proficiency with Python and building Virtual Environments (e.g., Conda, UV, Docker)
  • Demonstrable experience developing models using classical and SotA Machine Learning
  • Experience maintaining training and inference infrastructure for ML models

PAY TRANSPARENCY:In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $84,500 - $156,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $73,000 - $136,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, educationassistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
