Summary
About the position:
This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, ARRazorback Inn.
This is a Regular Part Time Position. Guaranteed 21 hours per week.
Performs a variety of tasks in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures and equipment. Makes repairs and performs minor maintenance on the facilities such as repair of electrical and outlet switches, light fixtures, leaky faucets, and door locks.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Performs various tasks in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Measures, cuts, constructs, and repairs wood items (panels, drywall, doors, cabinets)
  • Completes minor furniture repairs
  • Uses standard coating methods (brushing, rolling, spraying) with paint, varnish, shellac
  • Prepares surfaces by sanding or wire brushing
  • Repairs vacuum cleaners
  • Conducts minor facility maintenance (electrical switches, light fixtures, faucets, door locks)
  • Occasionally replaces electrical cords on lamps and vacuum cleaners
  • Replaces essential fixtures (light bulbs, doorknobs, faucets, toilet flush valves)
  • Paints walls and shelves
  • Operates stencil machine for room key holders
  • Completes various maintenance assignments approved by work orders
  • Reprograms TVs and VCRs remote controls
  • Logs and reports equipment under private warranty to appropriate personnel
  • Advises supervisor of unusual maintenance concerns affecting environmental comfort
  • Operates a computer workstation connected to the Lodging Computer System
  • Inputs and retrieves data using established formats and codes
  • Occasionally maintains VOQ and VAQ grounds in inspection condition
    • Mows grassy areas
    • Removes grass from curbing and sidewalks
    • Trims along curbs and sidewalks
    • Uses power saws, clippers, axes, and handsaws for landscaping maintenance
  • Performs snow/ice removal for lodging facilities
  • Maintains ice removal chemicals for janitorial use
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs/replaces mechanical and electronic locks
  • Maintains key tracking program and security records
  • Uses hand-held computer to interrogate locks when needed
  • Updates and manages lodging master and room key logs
  • Changes key cores when keys are lost or stolen
  • Acts as alternate facility manager for lodging buildings
  • Operates motor vehicles such as light trucks, sedans, and vans (up to 10,000 pounds)

Qualifying Experience:
Must be able to fully operate a variety of equipment and tools, to include mowers, edger, electric saws, hand tools, power hand tools, and trucks. Must be able to life and move heavy objects. Operations of a computer will be required. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
Education
