Building a portfolio, gaining certifications, and working independently or through platforms can help achieve this income level.

Is coding a dead-end job?

Remote computer programming is a viable career with ongoing demand due to the continuous need for software development, system maintenance, and technological innovation. Skills in programming languages, problem-solving, and adaptability are essential for long-term success, and the field often offers opportunities for career growth and specialization. While technology evolves rapidly, continuous learning helps programmers stay relevant and avoid career stagnation.

These skills and qualities ensure efficient code delivery, effective teamwork, and the ability to meet project goals independently in a remote setting.

What are some common challenges faced by remote computer programmers and how can they be addressed?

Remote computer programmers often encounter challenges related to communication, collaboration, and time management. Without in-person interactions, it can be harder to clarify requirements, coordinate with team members, or stay informed about project updates. To address these challenges, successful remote programmers proactively use collaboration tools, attend regular virtual meetings, and maintain clear, written documentation. Building strong communication habits and setting structured work schedules also help maintain productivity and foster effective teamwork.

Operators deserve more from their technology. More speed, more intelligence, and more control. Trivelta is on a mission to provide the AI-native software infrastructure powering the next generation of sportsbook and gaming companies. Our platform combines true native apps on both the App Store and Google Play, AI-powered personalization and risk management, and built-in social features that help operators create world-class product experiences. Today, Trivelta powers operators serving millions of users across global markets.

As we continue our rapid growth, two things are essential to our success: our people and our culture. So far, we have built a global team working from our offices in Boston, Barcelona, Monterrey, and Indore, as well as remotely around the world, to help us achieve our mission. And we're looking for more exceptional people. People who love building great products, redefining what is possible with AI, and turning complexity into elegant, scalable solutions.

As our Lead DevOps Engineer, you will design and build the infrastructure powering our platform serving hundreds of thousands of users. In this role, you'll set the technical vision, lead strategic decisions, and implement world-class DevOps practices that ensure scalability, reliability, and security at every level. From architecting resilient, performant multi-tenant cloud systems to designing cutting-edge CI/CD pipelines, you'll have the freedom and authority to make bold calls that directly shape how our platform scales globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable AWS environments using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Architect highly available, multi-tenant cloud systems with a focus on resilience, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Manage and optimize container orchestration using Amazon EKS/Kubernetes for reliable application deployment and scaling.
  • Implement and govern multi-account AWS environments with AWS Control Tower, automating provisioning, compliance, and security policies.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve robust CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment.
  • Lead network security initiatives, including firewall configuration, Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS), and strict IAM policy enforcement.
  • Own and manage SOC 2 compliance and other relevant regulatory frameworks, including audits and documentation.
  • Mentor and lead a diverse, distributed DevOps team; foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the key liaison between development, security, and operations teams to align priorities and ensure smooth delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Control Tower, etc.).
  • Proven experience designing and operating multi-tenant cloud architectures.
  • Strong skills with Kubernetes/EKS container orchestration and management.
  • Demonstrated ability with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or equivalent).
  • In-depth understanding of network security, IDS/IPS systems, and IAM best practices.
  • Experience owning SOC 2 compliance or similar security frameworks, including audits.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills with experience managing remote/global teams.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative and thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Passionate about your craft and committed to delivering exceptional results.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.

This is a fully Remote position.
