Job description

Job Summary

Our team is currently seeking a Court Assistant II to join a dynamic, innovative group of Court Assistant team members.
The position will involve a wide range of technical operations requiring specialized legal knowledge. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday.
This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule upon completion of fifty percent of the probationary period. (Currently with up to two remote days per week).

We provide additional compensation to employees whose positions require them to use a second language in the course of their responsibilities. Employees certified to offer bilingual services receive an additional pay premium of fifty dollars ($50.00) per pay period.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Two years of clerical word-processing and typing work experience, which includes at least one year of work directly related to the work of the class; or one year (45 credit hours) of post-secondary business, legal, or office occupational training or education may be substituted for one year of required experience.
Knowledge of: Modern office practices; business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation; the operation of Court and court processing activity.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Examples of Duties
As a Court Assistant II, your typical daily responsibilities will be to:
  • Process case filings that come from various law enforcement, prosecuting authority agencies, and from the members of the public;
  • Provide information to the public, co-workers, and outside agencies concerning case or court process-related information;
  • Participate in daily team assignments in support of the Court's operations;
  • Maintain multiple data and case management systems;
  • Cashier for court fines and fees;
  • Assist in training of other assigned staff;
  • Actively advance District Court's mission and vision by promoting a culture of learning, innovation, inclusion, and respect.
