Job Title: IT Project Manager (Hickory, NC/Atlanta, GA/Remote)

JOB PURPOSE:
The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and integrating cross-functional IT projects that are significant in scope and impact. This person will coordinate the work of other IT professionals and administrative staff to support application or system process development. Further responsibilities include development and maintenance of project scope documents, organizing human resources, maintaining and reporting out project timelines, and identifying/managing key benchmarks associated with project completion.
CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activities, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions
  • Validate resource requirements and develop cost estimate models
  • Assume responsibility for project tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
  • Maintain and report project plan to stakeholders and executive team
  • Maintain organizational effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies
  • Partner with application directors and creators to ensure each project meets a specific need and resolves successfully
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
SUPPORTING DUTIES TO THE CRITICAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Project
  • A history of leading and supporting successful IT projects
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, computer information systems or equivalent experience in the industry at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in transportation/logistics
  • 3+ years’ experience as an IT Project Manager
