Job description

Description
This position has the responsibility to facilitate data gathering and analysis from the Institute for Family Health practice management systems, electronic health records, dental records and other sources, to provide comprehensive financial, clinical and/or productivity reporting to users throughout the organization.
Familiarity with the healthcare environment to include procedure and diagnosis coding systems, medical terminology, regulations and reporting requirements is required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required as the analyst is required to work closely with users to accomplish tasks and goals. The HITS Reporting and Analytics Developer will also be required to assist with project implementation as resources dictate. Other job details are included herein.
Requirements
Business Intelligence Development Responsibilities
  • Meet with requestors and HIT analysts to understand organizational data needs
  • Develop design specifications for new reports; identify and review the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs
  • Create, modify, validate and deploy business intelligence content including, but not limited to: Crystal Reports, SQL Queries, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Dashboards, Metrics and Custom Data Model content (e.g. calculated views, derived tables)
  • Review peer reports for validity
  • Review upgrade documentation related to Clarity/Caboodle features and released reporting content. Determine how to implement the changes.
  • Tests new releases of the system, this includes pre and post upgrade testing and informing appropriate parties about system changes

GENERAL
  • Coordinate and promote overall health of assigned reporting database and/or reporting applications by working with Information Technology team members and others as necessary
  • Create and maintain reference documentation, including recovery documents, which ensure long-term sustainability

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal skills required in order to perform all tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • BS in Computer Information Systems or other related field or the equivalent of 5 years of experience in related area required.
  • COMPUTER PROFICIENCY
  • Basic computer and internet navigational skills required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
  • Satisfactory completion of trainings and certificates and assigned required.
  • Epic Cogito Fundamentals preferred.
  • Epic Cogito Tools Administration preferred.
  • Epic Cogito Clarity Data Model preferred.
  • Epic Cogito Caboodle Data Model preferred.
  • Epic Application area data models (any): Access, Clinical, Revenue preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SQL required.
  • Proficiency with SAP Crystal Reports and Business Intelligence platforms or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience with Epic's Cogito reporting tools or practice management system or equivalent required.
