Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of geographic information system (GIS) solutions that enable effective management, analysis, and visualization of spatial data. Provides configuration, data integration, and mapping support using Esri ArcGIS software and related platforms. Collaborates with technical and research teams to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with organizational standards. Contributes to geospatial data management, reporting, and process improvements that enhance infrastructure planning and scientific research.
Essential Functions
โ€ข Supports the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of GIS platforms, including Esri ArcGIS and system extensions.
โ€ข Converts CAD, Excel, and other source data into GIS-compatible formats for integration into enterprise systems.
โ€ข Creates and maintains feature classes, layers, symbology, and spatial databases to support infrastructure and research needs.
โ€ข Administers user roles, access, and security within GIS applications.
โ€ข Compiles and integrates geospatial datasets to support research, reporting, and infrastructure planning.
โ€ข Develops cartographic products, digital maps, and reports optimized for print, web, and interactive delivery.
โ€ข Monitors GIS data quality, reviews as-built drawings, and ensures accuracy of spatial records.
โ€ข Analyzes geospatial data to support planning for capacity, redundancy, and risk mitigation of infrastructure.
โ€ข Collaborates with stakeholders to design GIS solutions that meet organizational and research requirements.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree
Experience Requirement: 2+ years of experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
