Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to oversee multiโ€‘jurisdiction payroll tax compliance, vendor coordination, reconciliations, and process improvement across multiple U.S. legal entities. This role ensures accurate payroll execution, strong internal controls, and adherence to evolving federal, state, and local tax requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Policy Development: Draft and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Reporting: Prepare recurring and adโ€‘hoc payroll and tax reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Support: Provide guidance to HR, Finance, and business leaders on payroll matters.
  • Audit Oversight: Support internal and external audits; maintain strong controls and documentation.
  • Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular payroll, tax, and GL reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • System Setup & Maintenance: Support configuration, testing, and maintenance of payroll systems and compliance tools.
  • Vendor Coordination: Partner with payroll service providers to resolve issues, validate tax filings, and ensure accurate processing.
  • Process Improvements: Evaluate current workflows and implement enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Payroll Tax Oversight: Manage complex U.S. payroll tax activity across numerous jurisdictions; monitor changes and ensure timely updates.
  • Payroll Compliance: Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including emerging tax, leave, and disability insurance requirements.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Oracle Payroll (preferred)
  • ADP SmartCompliance (required)
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, audits, reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Bachelor's preferred or 7โ€“10+ years of multiโ€‘jurisdiction payroll tax experience.
  • Extensive U.S. payroll tax experience across multiโ€‘state and multiโ€‘jurisdiction environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and operate in a fastโ€‘changing regulatory environment.
