Job description

Position Overview

The Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. This position is available in a fully remote setting, catering to families throughout Pennsylvania. We are particularly interested in therapists who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, as the demand for culturally competent services is vital to our mission.

About the Organization

At Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic, we specialize in providing comprehensive mental health services tailored to children and teens facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our goal is to empower youth and their families by offering essential support to navigate the complexities of these challenges while promoting optimal mental well-being.

Work Environment

As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to conduct sessions from the comfort of your home, while also benefitting from our supportive outpatient office resources. Our team thrives on collaboration, and we utilize digital tools to facilitate communication and integrate support. You will have access to ongoing professional development and resources that further enhance your practice as you serve a diverse client base in Philadelphia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, tailored to the unique needs of each child and their family.
  • Implement strategies for anger management, coping skills, and social skill development, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
  • Assist clients and their caregivers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively tackle in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to supporting the youth and their families.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation within specified timelines by submitting intake reports, treatment plans, and progress notes as required.
  • Participate in monthly meetings for continuous improvement and provide valuable recommendations based on your observations and experiences in the field.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with children and teens aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing challenges due to developmental and intellectual disabilities. These individuals often require tailored therapeutic approaches that emphasize family engagement and support. Your efforts will directly contribute to fostering resilience and positive outcomes for these young clients.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Pennsylvania.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM; weekend work is a significant plus.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for transportation are required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience providing positive behavior support and therapeutic techniques to children with behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Experience working specifically with children diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred to meet the needs of our diverse clientele.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 60,000 and 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a robust benefits package that includes:

  • A dynamic and supportive work environment that fosters teamwork and growth.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage.
  • Annual paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for ongoing job training and professional development, enabling you to stay updated on best practices and innovative therapeutic approaches.
  • Access to short and long-term disability insurance as well as a 401K plan for your financial security.
Career Growth Opportunities

Working at Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic means you have the chance to develop specialized skills, engage in meaningful mentorship opportunities, and advance your career within the mental health field. We are committed to supporting the professional aspirations of our staff with regular training sessions, workshops, and conferences.

Why Join Our Team

Joining Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic allows you to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families facing significant challenges. You will be part of a compassionate and collaborative team dedicated to providing high-quality, culturally competent care. Your unique skills and insights will not only enhance your career trajectory but also enrich the lives of your clients.
