Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Reentry Social Workers to develop tailored discharge plans ensuring smooth transitions for patients into community-based care.
  • Document statistical reports required for tracking treatment effectiveness and performance metrics.
  • Work closely with the California Department of Corrections to facilitate patient access, appropriate housing, and needed treatments.
  • Lead and coordinate group treatment sessions, enhancing peer support and community engagement on mental health observation units as assigned.
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and crisis interventions, providing timely assessments and follow-up care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning sessions, discussing and strategizing care for patients undergoing mental health assessments.
  • Manage documentation and supervisory meetings with your Clinical Supervisor at least once a week to ensure compliance and clinical growth.
  • Feel empowered to conduct psychological testing as required and potentially supervise social work interns or student volunteers as opportunities arise.
  • Monitor and coordinate the disposition of patients to ensure they receive the appropriate level of mental health care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position will primarily focus on children and adolescents, addressing a wide range of mental health challenges. The ability to build rapport with young clients and their families is essential, as you will be responsible for developing trusting relationships that facilitate meaningful therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is a must.
  • Current and valid licensure or eligibility for licensure as a therapist in the state of California, with a focus on Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).
  • Demonstrated strong clinical skills with an emphasis on establishing trustful relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring effective collaboration within the healthcare team and with clients.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development to ensure best practices in therapeutic techniques and interventions.
