Summary Description:

You will be responsible for building a thermoformed protein business from the ground up. Leveraging your knowledge of the protein market to define a customer base and where Sonoco has the "right to win".
What you will be doing:

  • Deliver a minimum of $5MM+ per year of net profitable growth in the thermoformed protein market
  • Strong multi-channel prospecting strategies and cadence
  • Successfully onboards new customers
  • Prioritizes workload to maximize impact and output
  • Tracks prospecting actives in detail managing leading indicators, not lagging
  • Monitors closely and reports on all activity at each customer and prospective customer regarding leadership changes, expansions, closings, business trends, and all other factors impacting volume and growth
  • Maintains detailed prospect files (share, relative quality, relative price, specifications, contacts, competitor, etc.) on an ongoing basis
  • Develops action-oriented account plans for key prospects
  • Establishes and maintains multi-level contacts at all major existing and prospective accounts expanding relationships beyond themselves
  • Provides immediate supervisor with sales projections for products and customers within assigned area of responsibility for use in developing sales budgets
  • Provides marketing with input for use in developing strategic plans
  • Proficient with technology and management of - remote meetings, Microsoft, CRM, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Mintel, and Vidyard
  • Assists division marketing with trade shows, conventions, and trade association meetings as requested
  • Assists, as needed, with the training of division sales and marketing personnel
  • Submits expense reports, reports of call, and itineraries on a weekly basis and all other reports on schedule.
  • Protects assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations, and other such data in contacts with external parties.
  • Complies with all company policies.


This is a remote position. Ideal candidates will be in the eastern half of the US.
