Job Summary:

The Arizona State Treasurer's Office is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the agency's public affairs, external relations, and communications functions. Under the direction of the Public Information Officer, this position assists with the day-to-day work of communicating with the public and community partners on behalf of the Treasurer's Office. This is a part-time position guaranteed at least 20 hours weekly, offering a firsthand look at communications and public affairs work within a statewide elected office.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State's Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Job Duties:

Assist with the preparation of materials for public, media, and community facing communications, such as social media content, event materials.
Coordinates to arrange detailed travel arrangements and other logistical needs for the executive team.
Communicate with internal and external personnel to gather information needed to ensure successful meetings and events.
Assists with the coordination of various onsite and off-site events.
Assist with development of presentations and other meeting materials.
Provide administrative support to the executive team.
Duties mostly require traditional hours but will require some non-traditional hours (evenings and/or weekends).
May occasionally be required to drive a personal or government vehicle to off-site events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Must be highly proficient in using software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and have strong computer skills.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Be adept at setting priorities and anticipating needs with strong organizational skills.
Detail-oriented and organized, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated learner who takes initiative, works independently, and uses resourcefulness to solve problems.
Sound judgment, high ethical standards, and a deep understanding of executive-level protocol.

Selective Preference(s):

Candidates with public affairs or communications experience are highly preferred.

This position occasionally requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, and the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
