Job Summary

This full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor position offers the opportunity to provide therapy from a remote setting while serving clients throughout Rhode Island. The work is straightforward and client-focused: you will meet with clients online, understand what they are going through, create a plan for care, and provide ongoing counseling that helps them move through difficult seasons with more clarity and support.

Some clients may be dealing with long-term anxiety or depression. Others may be facing burnout, loss, relationship stress, trauma, or life transitions that feel hard to manage alone. As their counselor, you will help them name what is happening, build healthier patterns, and take manageable steps toward better emotional well-being.

Location: Rhode Island
Work Setting: Remote / Telehealth
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $115,000-$120,000 per year with full benefits
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients through scheduled video therapy appointments
  • Provide counseling for adults facing mental health, emotional, behavioral, and relationship-related concerns
  • Conduct initial evaluations and gather information needed to guide treatment
  • Create individualized care plans with goals that are easy to understand and track
  • Help clients explore thought patterns, stress triggers, coping habits, and barriers to progress
  • Use appropriate therapeutic approaches such as CBT, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, or other clinically supported methods
  • Keep clinical records updated, organized, and compliant with professional standards
  • Assess safety concerns and respond appropriately when risk is present
  • Maintain privacy, professionalism, and clear boundaries in all telehealth interactions
  • Communicate with outside providers or care teams when coordination supports the client's treatment

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Counseling, or a related field
  • Active and unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in Rhode Island
  • Experience providing therapy in outpatient care, private practice, community mental health, or telehealth
  • Working knowledge of clinical assessments, treatment planning, and counseling interventions
  • Comfortable using video platforms, electronic health records, and remote communication tools
  • Strong documentation habits and clear written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a full-time caseload with sound clinical judgment
  • Reliable internet connection and a private space for confidential client sessions

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $115,000-$120,000
  • Remote / telehealth work setting
  • Full-time position
  • 2 weeks PTO
  • Health Insurance
  • 401K Plan with 3% Company Match
