This role requires strong financial knowledge, quick decision-making skills, and an understanding of global commodity markets.

To thrive in Remote Commodity Trading, a solid understanding of financial markets, commodity pricing, risk analysis, and a relevant degree (such as finance, economics, or business) are crucial. Proficiency in trading platforms, data analytics tools, and certifications like Series 3 or related FINRA credentials is often expected. Exceptional decision-making, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are standout soft skills. These competencies are vital for making informed trading decisions, managing risk, and performing efficiently without onsite supervision.

Job description

Salesforce Engineer at Upstate Coin and Gold

Have you ever thought about a career in the fast-paced gold and silver industry? If so, here is your golden opportunity and the timing couldn’t be better! Upstate Coin & Gold is offering an exceptional opportunity to become an expert in the exciting precious metals profession.

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Engineer to join our team in a hybrid remote role. This position is based out of our Boulder, Colorado office, with travel to our Centennial, Colorado headquarters when needed.

The Role

We are seeking a visionary Salesforce Engineer to lead the architectural design, development, and implementation of our new Salesforce instance from the ground up. This is a foundational, architect-level role, not a maintenance position. You will serve as the primary builder of our CRM ecosystem, building the scalable architecture that powers our trading and customer operations.

We are looking for a true builder—someone who thrives on laying the groundwork for a growing organization and is passionate about establishing long-term best practices. You must possess a "security-first" mindset and demonstrate deep expertise in complex data orchestration, specifically in utilizing MuleSoft to seamlessly bridge Salesforce with our NetSuite ERP. If you are ready to own a critical platform build from day one, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greenfield Implementation: Own the full lifecycle of a new Salesforce instance implementation, from initial discovery and schema design to deployment and post-launch optimization.
  • Enterprise Integration: Architect and maintain sophisticated, real-time integrations between Salesforce and NetSuite using MuleSoft (Anypoint Platform) to ensure seamless data flow across our financial ecosystem.
  • Engineering Excellence: Develop high-quality, scalable code using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flow, adhering to industry best practices (CI/CD via Salesforce DX, TDD, and clean code).
  • Data Integrity & Governance: Establish rigorous data governance policies to ensure "golden record" accuracy between CRM and ERP systems, prioritizing transactional integrity for commodity trading.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, providing mentorship to junior team members and driving technical accountability.
  • Platform Administration: Perform hands-on administrative Salesforce tasks, including user management, permission sets, profile configuration, and daily platform health monitoring.
  • Salesforce Expertise: 4-6 years of professional engineering experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, with a proven track record of implementing new instances from scratch.
  • MuleSoft Mastery: Expert-level experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for designing, building, and managing APIs and integrations REQUIRED. You understand how to handle high-concurrency data syncs between disparate systems.
  • ERP Orchestration: Deep, hands-on experience integrating Salesforce with NetSuite (or similar Tier-1 ERPs). You understand the nuances of syncing GL accounts, inventory, and order fulfillment data.
  • Development & Tooling: Expert command of Apex, LWC, JavaScript, and Salesforce DX. You are comfortable working in a modern dev environment using VS Code and Git-based version control.
  • Security & Compliance: Deep understanding of Salesforce Shield, advanced sharing models, and encryption to protect sensitive financial and customer data.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field required; Salesforce Certified Application/System Architect or MuleSoft Developer certifications are highly desirable.
  • Hands-on, end-to-end development experience, from requirements gathering to post-deployment support.
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., Government Cloud, Financial Services) is highly valued.

Differentiators

  • Full-Stack Familiarity: Experience with Node.js or AWS services (Lambda, SQS) to support off-platform processing and event-driven architectures.
  • Domain Expertise: Previous experience in Financial Services, FinTech, or Commodities (understanding of ledger logic, physical asset tracking, or tax compliance).
  • AI Augmentation: Experience utilizing Salesforce Einstein or LLM-based development tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate delivery velocity.
  • Agile Management: Experience leading technical sprints and managing complex backlogs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Modern Innovation: Experience with Agentforce, Salesforce Einstein, or leveraging LLM-based development tools to accelerate delivery.
  • Reusable Architecture: Proven ability to build modular, scalable components for long-term platform maintenance.

Core Technologies

  • Platform: Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud)
  • Integration: MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, REST/SOAP APIs
  • Languages: Apex, JavaScript (LWC), SOQL/SOSL
  • ERP Ecosystem: NetSuite (SuiteTalk, REST Web Services)
  • DevOps: Salesforce DX, GitHub Actions, Copado (or similar)

Professional Attributes

  • Hands-on Developer: You thrive in the weeds of code and configuration, preferring a keyboard-first approach to solving problems.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: In the gold and silver industry, a decimal point matters. You exhibit a passion for data precision and system reliability.
  • Security-First Mindset: You architect solutions with the assumption that data is the company's most valuable asset, ensuring robust protection at every layer.
  • High-Velocity Execution: Ability to make sound architectural decisions quickly in a high-stakes, commodity-trading environment.
  • Effective Communicator: Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical executive stakeholders.
  • Self-Starter and Motivator: You possess an innate drive to own projects from inception to completion and have the ability to motivate cross-functional teams to align on technical goals.

What We Offer

  • Retirement Security: 401(k) with a 6% company match
  • Comprehensive Health: Medical, dental, and vision plans; HSA and FSA options.
  • Insurance & Protection: Company-paid STD, LTD, Life, and AD&D insurance.
  • Work-Life Balance: Paid Time Off (accruing immediately) plus paid holidays and sick pay.
  • Perks & Culture: Employee discounts on precious metals.

Job Type: Full-Time Exempt

Location: Hybrid (Boulder/Centennial, CO)
