Spend one day in a Sr. Account Manager's shoes and you'll find that they are always up for a challenge and love building relationships with our clients while constantly growing and expanding their insurance know-how. We're currently looking for a Sr. Account Manager, Commercial Insurance who will work with producers and carriers to provide exceptional service to our clients.


What's the work like?

You will:

  • Effectively and independently manage customer service accountabilities on a book of business with an above department average commission income level for the assigned segment of business while meeting department service standards. This book will consist of larger, middle market accounts that may be complex in nature.
  • Assist producer in development of service plan for key accounts; and, coordinate and monitor the service plan as needed
  • Manage renewal process according to agency procedures; negotiate most advantageous renewal terms and conditions for the client; review quotes, prepare proposals and bind coverage
  • Complete servicing of accounts, including but not limited to preparing proposals, issuing certificates and auto ID cards, ordering and processing endorsements, audits, binders, and maintaining current status on all account tasksย 
  • Promptly invoice all premium-bearing transactions
  • Review policies upon receipt in accordance with agency procedures for timely customer service
  • Promptly respond to customers' questions and/or requests for assistance
  • Review client contracts and make recommendations to producer, client and/or carriers if it is necessary to modify existing coverage in order to comply with contract provisions
  • Communicate all necessary information to producers, clients, carriers and any other agency team members servicing the account
  • Maintain the electronic account file and fully incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow
  • Prioritize workload to consistently meet objectives and request assistance from management when necessary
  • Assist the producer in eliminating gaps in coverage to reduce E&O exposure
  • Perform quality reviews as requested by management, and comply with requirements of quality programs
  • Follow agency and department procedures as outlined by management
  • Meet with and maintain effective working relationships with clients to support business retention
  • Meet with and maintain effective working relationships with insurance company representatives
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of highly sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • Maintain, develop, and pursue technical knowledge through newsletters, bulletins, seminars, trade publications or other educational opportunities
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance
  • Any other special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

What do I need to know?

You have to have...

  • High school diploma or equivalentย 
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Resident Property and Casualty Agent's license
  • 6 years Commercial Account Manager Experience or 4 years Commercial Account Manager Experience with a CIC or CISR designation.ย ย 
  • Proven ability to effectively service complex accounts in excess of $15,000 in revenue
  • Commitment to obtain advanced insurance educationย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), and all agency automation software. Experience with Applied Epic preferred
  • Proficient in department workflows and procedures
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with company employees and external contacts

Work Schedule: This position supports clients and operations in the Mountain Time Zone and therefore requires availability through 5:00 PM Central Time (4:00 PM Mountain Time) on regularly scheduled workdays.ย
