Job Summary:

 

As a Solution Line Manager for Energy, you will be pivotal in shaping and delivering Belden's complete connectivity solutions for modern OT/IT converged environments. You will go deep into customer problems, understand the role of networks and use of data in solving those problems, and create the positioning and system requirements that guide solution architects in designing bills of materials to address complex challenges.

You will lead strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of solutions that enhance efficiency, reliability, and intelligence within your sector. Flexible work options are available (Remote/Hybrid, with travel as required).

You will make a difference in the following ways:

  • Actionable Solution Requirements: Translate customer problems and sector insights into actionable, prioritized requirements for solution architects and product teams, ensuring solutions address real market needs.
  • Vertical Market Content: Develop and maintain clear, compelling pitchbooks for your sector, equipping sales teams with validated value propositions, customer use cases, and competitive differentiation.
  • Solution Line Card & Positioning: Create and update a solution line card with clear positioning statements, guiding sales and commercial teams on where to focus and how to articulate value in the vertical.
  • Validated & Tested Solutions: Deliver solutions that are not only designed but also validated and tested in real-world environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and customer confidence.

What you bring:

  • Customer Intimacy & Sector Expertise: Build deep relationships with customers and develop a nuanced understanding of sector-specific operations, pain points, and opportunities for innovation. 8+ years of direct experience in the relevant vertical sector.
  • Builder Mindset & Solution Creation: Thrive in ambiguous environments, actively build new solutions and approaches, and drive the development of innovative connectivity and networking offerings.
  • Portfolio Management & Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of solutions within your sector, from concept and requirements to launch, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Solution Architects, Commercial teams, and Product Managers to ensure solutions are technically feasible, market-ready, and effectively positioned.

Energy Sector Background:

Experience in any Energy segment is welcome, including:

  • Generation (thermal, hydro, nuclear, renewables)
  •  Transmission
  •  Distribution / Power Delivery
  •  Emerging technologies (e.g., grid-scale storage (BESS, SMRs)

Preferred technical experience includes one or more of the following:

  • Cybersecurity for OT/IT Converged Networks: Understanding of industrial cybersecurity concepts (e.g., segmentation, secure access, monitoring) and how they translate into solution requirements for critical infrastructure environments.
  • Digital Substations & IEC 61850 Applications: Familiarity with digital substation architectures and IEC 61850-based protection, automation, and control use cases, including operational needs and integration considerations.
  • PTP Time Synchronization (IEEE 1588): Knowledge of precise time distribution principles and deployment considerations in mission-critical networks, including common architectures and profiles used in industrial environments.
  • Networking Across WAN/LAN/FAN: Solid background in networking fundamentals across wide-area (e.g., MPLS-TP), local-area (Ethernet), and field-area (wireless) environments, including reliability, redundancy, and performance drivers
