About the Organization

At Sacred Heart Mental and Behavioral Center located in Danbury, Connecticut, we pride ourselves on providing comprehensive mental health services to a diverse clientele. Our mission is to promote mental wellness and recovery by offering supportive, evidence-based treatment options tailored to the unique needs of our patients. As a prominent community health clinic, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where individuals can find hope, healing, and empowerment in their journeys toward better mental health.

Work Environment

This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while still being part of a supportive community dedicated to professional growth. Despite the working remotely component, our teams regularly engage with one another over virtual platforms to ensure collaboration, support, and connectivity. Our commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture encourages open communication and teamwork among staff, providing a strong foundation for both client and professional success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of clients' mood disorder symptoms, documenting findings accurately to inform treatment.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with the individual needs, objectives, and preferences of each client.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address symptoms and foster resilience in clients.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, available treatment options, and self-care strategies to empower them in their wellness journey.
  • Monitor client progress diligently, adjusting treatment plans based on evolving needs and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in mood disorders and therapeutic interventions, enabling ongoing improvement in treatment approaches.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards by keeping accurate and secure client documentation.
  • Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to enhance service delivery and professional growth.
  • Advocate for clients and mental health awareness, striving to combat stigma and ensure their unique needs are met.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will have a profound impact on individuals struggling with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Our clientele often includes vulnerable populations—such as the homeless, refugees, and victims of domestic violence—who require compassionate understanding and expert guidance. You will play a key role in facilitating transformation and supporting clients in reclaiming their lives and achieving their mental health goals.

Qualifications
  • Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build a secure, trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude towards the experiences of clients.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage client caseloads and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with various mood disorders and knowledge of relevant evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Prior work in community health settings or with underserved populations is highly valued.
  • Previous experience with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, a retirement plan, and health insurance, to support your work-life balance and well-being.
  • Opportunity to engage in continued education and professional development in specialty areas like addiction counseling.
  • A collaborative and inclusive workplace built on ongoing support, mentorship, and team engagement.
  • Experience the rewarding aspect of contributing to clients' recovery journeys and long-term health improvements.
