As a mental health therapist with Scripps Behavioral Health, you will be part of an innovative telehealth facility, utilizing technology to provide care that is easily accessible to clients. Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients’ trauma histories and determine appropriate treatment pathways.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs, focusing on trauma recovery and resilience-building methodologies.
• Utilize evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address the unique symptoms and challenges faced by clients.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping clients process their trauma, develop adaptive coping strategies, and promote healing.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care and ensure a holistic approach to each client's mental health journey.
• Provide crisis intervention support for clients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor in high-stress situations.
• Offer educational resources and support to clients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping techniques, and additional community resources.
• Ensure precise and confidential documentation of patient interactions and treatment adherence to legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems appropriately.
• Participate in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development focused on trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay informed on the latest research and trends in trauma therapy to enhance your skills and provide the best possible service to clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on supporting individuals affected by various forms of trauma. This includes clients struggling with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will be essential in guiding them through their recovery journeys, emphasizing a trauma-informed approach that respects their experiences and promotes healing.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, specifically in trauma-focused therapies.
• Thorough knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities aimed at recovery and resilience-building.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental approach.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations related to client crises.
• Proficient in the use of EHR systems and standard computer applications, facilitating efficient clinical documentation and communication.
• A commitment to collaborative practice within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Preferred Experience

While 2 years of experience is preferred, we welcome applicants with documented expertise in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic strategies. Familiarity with specific modalities such as EMDR or TF-CBT will enhance your candidacy.

Compensation and Benefits
