What is a remote color designer?

A Remote Color Designer is a professional who specializes in selecting and coordinating colors for various design projects, such as fashion, interiors, graphics, or products, while working from a remote location. They collaborate with clients and design teams virtually to create appealing and harmonious color palettes that enhance visual appeal and brand identity. Using digital tools, they develop color schemes, provide color consultations, and ensure design consistency, all without needing to be physically present in a traditional office or studio.

How does a remote color designer typically collaborate with design and product teams, given the remote nature of the role?

As a Remote Color Designer, collaboration is primarily conducted through digital platforms such as Slack, Zoom, and shared design tools like Adobe Creative Cloud or Figma. You’ll participate in regular virtual meetings to review project briefs, share color palettes, and gather feedback from designers, product managers, and marketing teams. Clear communication and proactive sharing of color mockups or swatches are essential, as you may work across different time zones. Building strong digital relationships is key to ensuring your color decisions align with the overall project vision and brand guidelines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote color designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Color Designer, you need a strong understanding of color theory, visual design principles, and a relevant degree or portfolio demonstrating expertise in color application. Proficiency with digital design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and color management systems is typically required. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential soft skills for collaborating remotely and articulating design choices. These skills ensure cohesive and visually appealing outcomes that align with client or brand objectives in a remote work environment.

Who We Are
At OKX, we believe that the future will be reshaped by crypto, and ultimately contribute to every individual's freedom. OKX is a leading crypto exchange, and the developer of OKX Wallet, giving millions access to crypto trading and decentralized crypto applications (dApps). OKX is also a trusted brand by hundreds of large institutions seeking access to crypto markets. We are safe and reliable, backed by our Proof of Reserves. Across our multiple offices globally, we are united by our core principles: We Before Me, Do the Right Thing, and Get Things Done. These shared values drive our culture, shape our processes, and foster a friendly, rewarding, and diverse environment for every OK-er.

About The Opportunity
At OKX, design isn't decoration - it's how we shape the future of finance. As a senior creative force within our Brand Design team, you'll define the aesthetic language of one of the world's fastest-growing cryptocurrency platforms, working across every surface that matters: brand identity, digital campaigns, web, editorial, social, events, and beyond.
You'll own creative end-to-end, from first idea to final pixel. We're looking for someone who elevates every brief they touch: a designer with the instincts to find clarity in ambiguity, the range to move fluidly across channels, and the presence to raise the bar as part of a global team.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Be part of the development and execution of creative materials from briefing through concepting, executing, and production, with guidance from the creative director and Design Leads.
  • Take ownership of higher priority projects and execute senior designer level work.
  • Ensure design consistency and excellence across a variety of deliverables and brand touchpoints, including visual product design, campaigns, web pages, event design, etc.
  • Be an excellent cross-functional partner to a variety of global stakeholders.
Creative Operations:
  • Streamline production processes for efficiency.
  • Maintain an omni-channel approach within the marketing team (Content, Social Media, PR, Partnership, Events, Product, and Digital Media).
  • Help define and evolve brand guidelines and asset requirements.
Team and Relationship Management:
  • Foster a positive and creative team culture.
  • Support team development and mentorship.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.

What We Look For In You:
  • 10+ years of experience in an in-house and/or agency role as Senior Brand or Visual Designer, working for global brands and/or clients.
  • Experience as a design generalist, with hands-on involvement in creative direction and support across a range of disciplines, including brand, social media, experiential, web, motion, and 3D.
  • The ideal candidate has a creative mindset and is proficient in leveraging AI as a creative and productivity tool.

Perks & Benefits
  • Competitive total compensation package
  • L&D programs and Education subsidy for employees' growth and development
  • Various team building programs and company events
  • More that we love to tell you along the process!

OKX Statement:
OKX is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, genetic information, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, lawful alien status, national origin, age, marital status, and non-job related physical or mental disability, or protected veteran status. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

The base salary range for this position is:
Tier 1: $200,355 to $300,533
Tier 2: $160,284 to $240,426
Tier 3: $140,249 to $210,373
The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Applicants should apply via OKX internal or external careers site.
