Job description

Our client, a personal injury law firm, is seeking a Legal Investigator to support asbestos/silicosis, workers’ compensation, and civil litigation cases.

What You’ll Do

•Conduct phone and virtual interviews with potential clients, coworkers, and witnesses.

•Research defendants, jobsites, employment history, and case-related information.

•Review and summarize depositions, employment, military, Social Security, business, and other records.

•Prepare detailed interview and investigative memoranda.

•Locate and evaluate potential witnesses.

•Prepare draft declarations and correspondence for attorney review.

•Maintain case information in databases and coordinate updates with paralegals.

•Track investigative activities and assist attorneys and staff with case-related projects.

•Occasionally travel for client/witness meetings or document productions.

Requirements

•Must reside in California.

•3–5 years of experience in investigations, research, interviewing, or a related field; construction experience is a plus.

•Bachelor’s degree preferred.

•Excellent writing, communication, research, and interviewing skills.

•Strong computer skills and ability to learn new databases/software quickly.

•Ability to type 35+ WPM.

•Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

•Comfortable conducting cold calls and discussing complex or sensitive topics with clients and witnesses.
