What is a weekend cold case investigator?

Weekend Cold Case Investigators are law enforcement professionals or consultants who work specifically on unsolved criminal cases, typically during weekends or outside of standard business hours. Their primary responsibility is to review, analyze, and investigate cases that have remained unresolved for extended periods. They may re-examine evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with other agencies to uncover new leads. This role often requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in criminal investigations. By dedicating focused time on weekends, they help bring renewed attention and resources to cases that might otherwise remain stagnant.
