Will a medical coder be replaced by AI?

Medical coders perform complex tasks that require understanding medical records, coding guidelines, and compliance, which currently limits full automation. While AI tools can assist with coding accuracy and efficiency, human oversight remains essential to handle nuanced cases and ensure proper documentation.
