Job description

CALIFORNIA APPLICANTS ONLY - PART-TIME/Remote Position

Director of Coaching & Team Specialists (Executive Functioning)

Do you love helping students figure things out-not just academically, but also how to manage life, time, and motivation?

Are you the person other educators turn to for advice, support, and "what would you do here?" moments?
If so, keep reading... this might be your kind of role.

The Role (aka: Your Impact Zone)

We're looking for a Director of Client Services (DCS), for our executive function coaching company (www.efspecialists.com) who can do two things really well:

  1. Coach humans (students and adults)
  2. Build humans (our team of Executive Function Specialists)

This is a hybrid leadership + hands-on role where you'll spend about:

  • 70% of your time working directly with students and families - DIRECT Service rate
  • 30% mentoring, training, and strengthening our coaching team - ADMINISTRATIVE rate

You'll be a trusted guide for families, a go-to resource for specialists, and a key partner to leadership as we grow.

What You'll Actually Do

Direct Coaching

  • Meet weekly with students (remote) to build executive functioning skills (think: organization, planning, follow-through)
  • Translate IEPs, assessments, and school data into clear, actionable strategies
  • Create and adjust individualized plans that actually work in real life
  • Keep families in the loop with clear, proactive communication (text, email, calls, video)
  • Track progress like a pro (yes, data matters-and you'll make it meaningful)
  • Lead Family Team Meetings that keep everyone aligned and moving forward
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school teams (IEPs/504s included)

Leadership & Team Development

  • Train and mentor new coaches using our Coaching Playbook
  • Lead engaging, practical professional development (no boring lectures here)
  • Identify team growth areas and create training that actually helps
  • Be the "go-to" when a coach hits a tricky situation
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and matching students with specialists
  • Partner with leadership to evolve and strengthen our programs

What Makes You Great for This

You're not just qualified-you're wired for this kind of work.

  • You understand ADHD, executive functioning, and learning differences deeply
  • You can read an IEP and quickly connect the dots to real-world challenges
  • You're equally comfortable talking to a stressed parent, a resistant teen, and a school team
  • You give feedback in a way people actually hear and use
  • You're organized-but flexible when real life happens (because it always does)
  • You like data... but you love what it means for a student's growth

The Logistics

  • Student sessions typically 3:00-8:00 PM PST (3-5 days/week)
  • Sunday availability required (4-hour block)
  • Follows the academic calendar (busy during fall/spring; lighter during breaks)
  • Availability during the school year is essential
  • Time off should align with typical school breaks (summer, winter, spring)
  • Tools you'll use: Zoom, Google Suite, TutorBird, Basecamp

Benefits, Yes...even when working part-time!

  • Flexible, part-time remote work
  • Work with students across the globe
  • 401(k) with employer match (after 6 months)
  • Client Retention Bonus Plan
  • Healthcare reimbursement (90 days; 15+ hrs/week)
  • Technology reimbursement (based on hours)

What You Bring

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Therapy, or related field
  • Strong background in Special Education / Executive Functioning
  • At least 3+ years teaching, coaching, or related experience
  • Bonus points for SPED certification

Why This Role is Different

This isn't just a "director" role where you sit in meetings all day. And it's not just coaching either.

You'll:

  • Directly change student outcomes
  • Shape how our entire coaching team shows up
  • Help families feel supported (sometimes for the first time)
  • Build systems, people, and impact-all at once

If You're Thinking "This Sounds Like Me..."

You probably thrive in roles where no two days are the same, where relationships matter, and where your work has a visible, meaningful impact.

If that's you, we'd love to meet you.

Compensation (DOE):

  • Direct Service rate: $55-70/per hour
  • Administrative rate: $35-45/per hour

How to Apply

  1. Review the application and expectations, and submit the requested information.
  2. Submit your resume, credentials, and a cover letter that highlights relevant education, experience, availability, and why you would be a great fit.

We look forward to learning more about you and your passion for helping students thrive.
