Job Description
Role Type: W2 Contractor
Status: U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder
Note: We are unable to partner on a corp-to-corp (C2C) basis
Term: 6 months, possible extension
Start Date: Immediate
Hourly Rate: $20 to $25/hr + travel
Availability: Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends
Travel requirements: 95-100% (U.S.-based)
How You'll Make an Impact
As a non-exempt/hourly employee at Burwood, the Field Services Technician is an entry- level position in technology implementation and is part of our Professional Services Enterprise Networking team. This role provides an opportunity for learning and development of technical and consultative skills while working alongside our Consultants and Burwood project team members. Individuals will be expected to develop a broad base of knowledge and become well-rounded in several technologies.
In this role, the Field Services Technician has the following responsibilities:
  • Learn and develop technical and soft skills
  • Provide technical support on various client projects
  • Follow direction and guidance from team leaders and mentors
  • Work cohesively with other Burwood Group project team members and co-workers
  • Complete client site assessment surveys accurately and comprehensively
  • Document and inventory all on-site technology to prep for network/server stack cutovers and possible low voltage/high voltage upgrades
  • Conduct LiDAR and Ekahau assessments for client sites to provide wireless heatmapping proposals
  • Facilitate the installation and configuration of new network equipment racks, workstation deployments, and other technology infrastructure upgrades
  • Act as an on-site liaison for remote engineers, clearly communicating any issues or required adjustments for facilitating site cutovers
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for common issues such as label printing problems, VLAN identification, and misc. hardware/software troubleshooting
  • Review site instructions before arrival and ensure all tools and equipment are prepared and functional
  • Collect and document detailed notes and photographs of completed work
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and decorum in all client interactions
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and safety guidelines
