Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough initial interviews with clients, meticulously documenting their cases from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to understand their specific challenges and context.
  • Develop individualized intervention and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, effectively employing various therapeutic modalities to enhance client engagement.
  • Monitor and document client progress regularly throughout the treatment journey, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients who are hospitalized, coordinating care to improve health outcomes.
  • Identify and intervene in behaviors that may obstruct recovery, utilizing evidence-based strategies.
  • Assist family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges to foster a supportive home environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and face a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addictive behaviors. You will work primarily with adults but also have opportunities to engage with children and families, fostering positive therapeutic relationships to support their journey toward recovery.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is mandatory.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas is required.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is essential.
  • Previous professional experience in mental health counseling is necessary, with a strong understanding of therapeutic processes.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems, especially AVATAR, is highly desirable for efficient case management.
  • Knowledge of the interrelationship of physical and emotional health issues, particularly concerning addiction disorders, is beneficial.
