As an Sr. Accountant, you'll oversee a portfolio of clients within the 1530 NAICS Construction Sector, guiding them through the complexities of job costing, payroll, bill pay, and more. Acting as their trusted financial partner, you'll lead client meetings, review your team's work, and ensure seamless execution of accounting processes. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that combines leadership, problem-solving, and industry expertise.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of 15 to 30 construction clients, ensuring all financial processes run smoothly and on time.
  • Prepare and present monthly and year-end financial statements, job costing, and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Oversee, mentor, and support bookkeeping/admin assistants to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain advanced controller services such as online bill pay, invoicing, KPI tracking, and monthly WIP reporting.
  • Lead client meetings with confidence, translating complex accounting data into actionable insights.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve client accounting challenges, often on tight timelines.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA a strong plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in construction accounting preferred.
  • Experience in both public accounting (CPA firm) and working directly for construction companies is highly valued.
  • Skilled in QuickBooks Online (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills, able to build trust and explain financials clearly.
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience managing a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
