Job description

Job Title: Azure Firewall Engineer Type: Contract Work Model: Remote – offsite

Responsibilities

  • Manage Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls within an IaaS environment, including configuring and maintaining security policies and NAT rules.
  • Oversee virtual machine scale sets to ensure scalable and secure infrastructure.
  • Adhere to strict change management policies during firewall and network updates.
  • Potentially collapse multiple firewalls into a single device to streamline security architecture.
  • Perform migrations of Checkpoint Firewalls to Palo Alto firewalls in Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and security compliance.
  • Leverage Strata Cloud Manager to administer a large fleet of firewalls effectively.
  • Utilize Python and Ansible scripts to automate routine security and network management tasks.
Requirements
  • Firewall engineer experience managing Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment.
  • Expertise in managing security and NAT policies on Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Strong knowledge in managing virtual machine scale sets.
  • Understanding of strict change management policies.
  • Experience in integrating and migrating firewalls, particularly Checkpoint to Palo Alto in Azure.
  • Experience with Strata Cloud Manager for large-scale firewall management.
  • Proficiency in Python and Ansible automation tools.
