We are currently seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement and manage cloud-based infrastructures that support health IT applications, data analytics and compliance-driven solutions. Your expertise will help leverage cloud technologies for secure, scalable and efficient operations.


Essential Functions

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud services on platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud. Azure and AWS experience preferred.
  • Provide technical support for cloud-based systems, including incident response, problem resolution, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system reliability, performance, and availability through logs and telemetry, responding to issues as warranted.
  • Define, Implement, and Enforce Security standards and best practices as required to protect PHI.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for cloud deployment and employ DevOps practices such as CI/CD.
  • Participate in capacity planning and cost optimization efforts to maximize efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in Cloud Computing, Platform Engineering, DevOps, & SRE.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Behavioral and Technical Competencies

  • Demonstrable experience with one or more Configuration Management tools such as; Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or DSC.
  • Innate desire to Automate routine tasks, functions, and processes using scripting languages such as bash, python, PowerShell
  • Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as; Terraform, Bicep, or Cloud Formation. Terraform experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is desired.
  • General knowledge of and experience with networking concepts, including DNS, SSL, VPNs, proxies, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Time and priority management to ensure deliverables are completed within the given time frame.
  • Displays a Growth Mindset and diligent self-reliance, asking smart questions and creative problem solving.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing principles, database concepts and operating systems (Linux and Windows.)

Requirements

Physical Demands

This is a sedentary role which may sit or use a computer for long periods of time. Finger dexterity is needed for keyboarding. Extended periods of time reading/viewing computer screens.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of  5 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles. 
  • Certification in cloud platforms such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud
  • Professional Cloud Architect is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of implementing scalable and resilient cloud solutions in production environments.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments is a plus.
