Job Title: Referral and WorkQueue Coordinator

Classification: Part Time/1099 Contractor

Work Structure: Fully Remote

Shift: Monday-Friday; 2-3 hours per day/10-15 hours per week*

Team: Clinical Operations

Reporting to: Clinical Eligibility Lead

Location: United States

Compensation: $20 per hour

Job Summary:

The Referral and WorkQueue Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and updating patient referrals within Epic EMR. This role ensures referrals are accurate, appropriately routed and progressing through the referral process by coordinating with the Aviary Health Care Team.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain assigned referral WorkQueues in Epic
  • Update referral status, scheduling information, benefit details and other relevant information in Epic
  • Identify and escalate referrals that are missing information or require additional action to clinical team
  • Conduct ineligibility notification calls, providing clear explanations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EHR and Aviary Health systems

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a clinical administrative role
  • Epic or general EMR: 3 years
  • Medical terminology: 1 year
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Zoom, Google Suite, and EMR experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
