Remote clinical informatics jobs include positions such as clinical informatics analyst, clinical informatics specialist, informatics programmer analyst, informatics scientist, and clinical informatics educator. Clinical informatics is the discipline of studying how technology can improve the flow of clinical and patient information between researchers, clinicians, patients, and health care organizations in the health care system. Your specific duties depend on your position, but most jobs require you to help design and develop data storage and sharing systems. Your responsibilities may also include helping to analyze and improve current informatics systems at an institution.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Clinical Informatics Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Clinical Informatics Specialist, you need a background in healthcare, knowledge of clinical workflows, and often a degree in informatics, health information management, or a related field. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, data analytics tools, and certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) are commonly required. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across clinical and technical teams are essential soft skills. These abilities are vital to ensure accurate data management, successful implementation of health IT solutions, and improved patient care outcomes in a remote environment.

What is remote clinical informatics?

Remote clinical informatics is a field that involves managing and analyzing health information and data to improve patient care, with professionals working from locations outside traditional healthcare settings. These specialists use technology to collect, store, and interpret medical data, helping healthcare providers make better clinical decisions. Remote clinical informaticists often collaborate with IT teams, clinicians, and administrators to optimize electronic health records (EHRs), ensure data security, and support telehealth initiatives. This role is critical in the modern healthcare environment, where digital solutions and remote work are increasingly common.

How does a Remote Clinical Informatics professional typically collaborate with healthcare teams and IT departments?

Remote Clinical Informatics professionals often work closely with both clinical staff and IT teams to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems and ensure seamless health data workflows. They facilitate communication between clinicians and technical staff, translating clinical needs into technical requirements and vice versa. Regular virtual meetings, project management tools, and secure messaging platforms are commonly used to coordinate updates, solve problems, and implement new technologies. Strong collaboration skills are essential, as much of the work involves cross-functional teamwork to improve patient care and data integrity.

Job description

In short: we're looking to connect with Implementation Engineers (hybrid or remote) who are passionate about making healthcare better and excited by solving technical problems, advising customers, and influencing product direction alongside our R&D team. Compensation is commensurate with experience and the range is $80,000-$85,000 and includes salary, stock options, paid time off, healthcare coverage, and additional benefits.

*We are prepared to offer a sign-on bonus to those who are qualified and able to start by July 1, 2026*

Hi, I'm Shannon, Implementations Manager at EnsoData!
We're excited to connect with future teammates who are passionate about making healthcare better. If you have experience in customer success, technical problem solving, healthcare SaaS, integrations, or Python-and enjoy partnering closely with customers to drive success-we'd love to learn more about you.

The mission of a Implementation Engineer is the technical bridge between sales and long-term support. They own the technical delivery of the product, ensuring that new sites and features are integrated seamlessly into the client's clinical environment. They solve complex integrations and customize the platform to meet specific site requirements.

This role combines project leadership, technical problem solving, and customer advocacy to ensure successful implementations, scalable solutions, and continuous product optimization. We're looking for those who enjoy owning projects from implementation through training (or execution), proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, and building repeatable processes that scale with our growing customer base.

On a given day, this could include:

  • Leading customer onboarding and implementation projects by mapping technical integrations, defining milestones, coordinating stakeholders, training clinical teams, and configuring diagnostic workflows for successful go-live
  • Managing multiple customer initiatives simultaneously, ensuring project timelines, technical dependencies, and communication plans stay on track
  • Driving technical issue resolution from initial discovery through root-cause analysis, solution design, implementation, validation, and customer communication
  • Partnering directly with sleep technologists, physicians, IT teams, and operational leaders to gather feedback, identify workflow improvement opportunities, and implement configuration enhancements
  • Translating customer needs into actionable product feedback and improve the overall customer experience
  • Developing scalable documentation, implementation playbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational processes that improve consistency as EnsoData grows
  • Advising customer teams on workflow optimization, adoption strategies, and best practices to maximize clinical efficiency, diagnostic accuracy, and long-term success with EnsoSleep

The scope, complexity, and ownership of projects will scale based on experience and role level.

About EnsoData

EnsoData strives to make healthcare more accurate, efficient, and affordable through waveform artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Using AI and machine learning, our software analyzes billions of data points collected from sensors placed throughout the human body. Our first solution, EnsoSleep, reduces the time clinicians spend analyzing, scoring and managing sleep studies. This results in a simplified and accelerated patient testing, diagnosis, and treatment workflow. Our AI-powered technology has the capability of informing health decisions beyond sleep medicine, from monitoring patient health in the ICU or through wearables, to detecting and capturing seizure data, to providing earlier detection of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and Alzheimer's.

Here is a little about what we are doing in the world of sleep medicine...
