The opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a new team delivering Unity platform support for a key platform partner bringing games to TV and mobile form factors. To reach every screen, we will be leveraging a combination of platforms, including streaming from Linux in the cloud, Web builds to be instantly loadable, and native iOS and Android.
The team's goals include delivering stable platform support, realizing developer workflows for Unity users to unlock the unique features of this platform, and leading optimization initiatives to enable Unity to be efficient on the widest possible array of target devices.
This role is a combination of technical leadership and people management. The right person will attract, develop and retain high quality engineering talent at all levels. What you'll be doing
  • Own and drive the near-term execution and technical strategy for the team
  • Collaborate internally with other core Unity engineering and graphics teams
  • Communicate your team's vision and progress internally and externally
  • Foster a high-performance, supportive culture by mentoring and coaching your team, actively guiding their professional development and career growth.

What we're looking for
  • Experience developing and managing a high-performance software engineering team
  • Proven technical knowledge in desktop/mobile/web platform technology stacks using platform APIs to build native applications
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with internal Product owners and external partners to achieve alignment on technical specifications and interdependencies.
  • Expertise as a software engineer, and a working familiarity with C++, C# and JavaScript
  • Ability to assimilate and understand a large and complex software product

  • A methodical approach to prioritizing and developing innovative optimization solutions

Base Salary Range: We determine the base salary range for this role based on your primary work location:
Zone A: $135,800 - $203,600 USD gross
Zone B: $153,400 - $230,200 USD gross
Zone C: $172,400 - $258,600 USD gross
This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate's relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
