The Pricing Analyst IV Change Order & Modifications leads activities associated with the development of medium to high complexity cost/price proposals utilizing the principles of cost accounting standards and the Company's Estimating System. This includes working closely with team members in an often-dynamic quick turn environment on strategic planning, analysis, spreadsheet development, and budget analysis and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive, demonstrates excellent financial acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and excels in building strong partnerships across the organization.

This is a remote position; a candidate local to an Amentum HQ facility (Chantilly, VA or Fort Worth, TX) or with the ability to travel is preferred. US citizenship is required.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with Operations, Business Development and Functional Support groups to obtain/develop data necessary for developing prices or other components of a cost/price volume
  • Reviews data obtained and develops pricing models for medium to complex change order or modification proposals with minimal supervision
  • Develops and implements proposal strategies for achieving company objectives
  • Ensures compliance with the estimating system manual as well as other policies and procedures
  • Performs quality assurance reviews to ensure that cost/price volume components are accurate and responsive to solicitation requirements
  • Prepares cost narratives and any other cost/price volume requirements
  • Provides pricing guidance and support, as required, to field personnel performing pricing related activities
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior pricing team members while fostering collaboration with senior-level pricing professionals to ensure best practices and optimal outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of proposal development and strategy that includes contract cost and pricing principles that translates efforts in acquiring new and follow-on business
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume proposal environment with quick turnaround requirements, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, while producing polished and professional-quality work products.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Government structure and agency acquisition procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities
  • Extensive knowledge of the components of basis of estimates and bills of materials
  • Data-driven and continuous learning mindset - Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, including leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, synthesize information, improve communication, and accelerate problem solving while maintaining human judgment and accountability.
  • Ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies - Candidates should be comfortable assessing new AI-enabled tools and processes, identifying practical use cases, validating outputs, understanding limitations/risk, and incorporating AI responsibly into day-to-day work.
  • Demonstrated AI fluency and workflow integration - Candidates should have experience using AI tools to enhance workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency.
  • Advanced Excel and mathematical skills

  • Must be able to work extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline; two (2) years of experience in contracts or pricing may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
  • Typically Eight (8) years of experience in cost proposal preparation or cost proposal development; relevant finance experience may be considered for some years in lieu of cost proposal preparation and development; 5 years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • US Citizenship is Required.

  • 10%-15% Travel may be required

Compensation Details:

$114k - $142k
