  • Identify and correct data deficiencies or discrepancies in existing registry records
  • Support performance improvement and quality reporting efforts by generating registry reports as needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations
  • Coordinate with hospital staff or outside agencies as needed to obtain complete medical record documentation
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a trauma registrar, or equivalent experience in medical record abstraction and data entry into a clinical registry
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and trauma coding standards
  • Familiarity with ICD-10-CM coding and AIS/Injury Severity Scoring
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and trauma registry software (e.g., ImageTrend, Digital Innovation/Collector, or similar)
  • Certification as a Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) and/or Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) preferred, but not required for this contract length
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace
Additional Details
  • This is a temporary, defined-length assignment (approximately 12–20 weeks) with no guarantee of extension or conversion to permanent status
