Artemis is seeking a full-time Graphic Designer with demonstrated experience developing a wide range of visually engaging communications and outreach projects for a large-scale federal contract. The Graphic Designer supports the government by creating accessible, brand-aligned visual communications for print, digital, web, video, social media, events, and exhibits. The role develops graphics, layouts, infographics, presentations, illustrations, and animated or motion-ready visual materials that help communicate complex scientific and technical information clearly and accurately.

This role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with professional experience producing high-quality visual products for scientific, technical, or public-facing communications. This position needs an individual who can gather requirements, take creative direction, collaborate with researchers and stakeholders, maintain visual identity standards, manage multiple simultaneous assignments, and ensure all deliverables meet current Section 508 accessibility requirements.

This is a contingent hire position. Offers will be contingent upon client approval, ability to meet security requirements, and the ability to adhere to any on-site requirements (which may change at contract award).

  • Create graphic design and layout for print and digital media.
  • Design, edit, and enhance Microsoft PowerPoint presentations as needed.
  • Create graphic designs for print press kits and a variety of digital and print documents.
  • Illustrate and design infographics for press kits, press releases, media events, and other press-related materials.
  • Develop graphics for trade shows, event booths, conferences, exhibits, and media events.
  • Create graphic materials for video production and animated content for video, web content, and social media.
  • Create original illustrations in traditional and digital formats, including 3D where appropriate, to clarify complex descriptive information.
  • Follow client branding guidelines, advise stakeholders on implementation, and help establish and maintain the Agency visual identity.
  • Research subject matter and communicate with researchers to ensure scientific accuracy in illustrations, infographics, and related visuals.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team as well as independently on assigned projects.
  • Assure all content created meets current Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Provide technical and artistic advice to staff about visual information.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other creative and visually related duties as assigned.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud and related visual content production applications to complete assigned work.

  • 3 years of experience developing visually engaging multimedia products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud suite products.
  • Experience creating content that meets Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders, take creative direction and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to create or support highly detailed, scientifically accurate visual depictions of objects, principles, plants, animals, or other complex subject matter.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to develop cohesive design treatments across a suite of products.
  • Expert-level experience with project management or digital asset management software.
