Description
This Graphic Designer supports Westminster Theological Seminary by producing creative collateral for projects managed by the Marketing & Communications ("Marcomm") department. This person will have the exciting opportunity to help support the Westminster brand under the guidance of the department's directors through creating various digital and print assets for event promotion and donor outreach.
Duties and responsibilities
- Design creative collateral to meet deadlines. Projects will include biannual issues of Westminster Magazine, print issues of Point of Contact (newsletter), digital and print collateral to support event promotion (flyers, ads, invitations, etc.), mailers, email templates, social media content, and other relevant collateral
- Collaborate with teammates on ideation, editing, and execution as needed
- Maintain knowledge of design programs and trends to ensure quality standards are met and that Westminster's brand is represented in a way that is relevant and effective
- Occasionally create storyboards, mockups, and illustration files with design notes for animation projects; partner with our videographers to develop visually compelling video projects
- Monitor competitor collateral to evaluate strategic design opportunities for Westminster's marketing initiatives
- Ensure that all creative collateral adheres to Westminster's brand guide
- Maintain organized file system on DropBox or Google Drive to promote easy team-wide access of assets
Requirements
Qualifications
- Professional graphic design experience required. Prior experience in generating design materials for digital marketing purposes preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (required: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Print medium experience (magazine or similar collateral)
- Typesetting experience
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
- Comfort developing print and digital collateral for use across a variety of channels
- A natural design style that lends itself to Westminster's brand guidelines
- Limited need for coaching to maintain branding cohesion across various mediums
- A proactive nature and creative mindset
- Familiarity with the audiences of and content produced for Christian organizations such as Bible Project, Ligonier, Desiring God, and The Gospel Coalition, a plus
- Familiarity with Westminster's competitors and partner institutions a plus

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. 20 hours per week is expected, with the possibility of opportunity to grow to full-time work (40 hours per week).
