What is a remote chief operating officer in the mining industry?

A Remote Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the mining industry is a senior executive responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of a mining company, but does so from a remote location rather than on-site. This role involves managing production, safety, logistics, and regulatory compliance, all while leading teams and coordinating efforts across multiple sites, often using digital tools and technology. The remote COO ensures that operations run efficiently and aligns company strategy with operational execution, bringing strong leadership to geographically dispersed teams. They play a crucial role in driving productivity, maintaining safety standards, and supporting business growth in the fast-evolving mining sector.

How does a remote chief operating officer in the mining industry manage site operations and ensure alignment with corporate goals from a distance?

A Remote COO in mining leverages digital tools and strong communication channels to oversee site operations, ensuring that teams on the ground are aligned with the company's strategic objectives. They regularly review operational reports, conduct virtual meetings with site managers, and use real-time data dashboards to monitor safety, productivity, and compliance metrics. Building trust and fostering a culture of accountability with on-site leaders is crucial, as is being proactive in addressing challenges that arise due to distance. The role demands adaptability, excellent leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while navigating the complexities of remote oversight.

Job description

Remote (US) · Full-time Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 base ($200,000–$250,000 OTE, uncapped) + competitive equity

About the Company

Our client is decision-intelligence software for wealth management. The platform unifies risk, compliance, and investment strategy in one place so financial advisors can run smarter practices without the manual work. It has roughly $3M ARR with a clear path to $10M, in a $100B+ addressable market of independent RIAs and wealth-management firms across the US.

Founded 2017 · 11–50 people (Series A) · Industry: FinTech

The Role

Own the client's largest and most complex SME and enterprise deals with RIA and wealth-management firms of 50+ advisors — executive, multi-stakeholder, multi-year deal-making that wins the biggest firms in an underserved $100B+ market.

Tech stack: HubSpot; Outreach, Gong, LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of wealth-management or fintech sales
  • 1+ year of complex, multi-stakeholder deal closing
  • 90%+ documented quota attainment
  • A self-sourced-pipeline track record
  • US-timezone availability
  • Prior experience at a small or growth-stage company (under 100 employees), comfortable without a polished playbook
Nice to Haves
  • Has sold compliance or risk software specifically into a regulated financial-services buyer, not an adjacent category
  • Builds and defends a business case to a CCO, COO, or principal-level buying committee
  • Self-sources pipeline through referrals, events, or industry relationships rather than relying only on inbound
  • A track record structuring multi-year or phased enterprise deals
Why Join
  • Own the biggest deals in an underserved market: the largest, most complex opportunities in a $100B+ TAM
  • Uncapped commission, real upside: $200–250K OTE, uncapped — larger ACVs mean larger checks
  • Direct access and influence: a direct line to the Head of Sales and CEO at a small, low-bureaucracy team where high performers shape the playbook
Details
  • Location — Remote (US-based)
  • Work policy — Remote (US)
  • Compensation — $100,000–$125,000 base ($200,000–$250,000 OTE, uncapped) + competitive equity
  • Visa sponsorship — Not available
  • Employment type — Full-time
