What is a Remote Chemical Engineering job?

A remote chemical engineering job involves applying chemical engineering principles to projects, research, or process optimization while working off-site. Engineers in these roles may focus on simulations, data analysis, product development, or consulting using digital tools. Common industries include pharmaceuticals, energy, and materials science. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential since work is conducted virtually with teams or clients.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Chemical Engineering position, and why are they important?

Strong foundations in chemical engineering principles, process design, and data analysis are essential, typically backed by a bachelor's or higher degree in chemical engineering. Familiarity with simulation software such as Aspen Plus, MATLAB, and various remote collaboration tools is frequently required, along with relevant certifications like Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in some cases. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and organizational skills help remote chemical engineers excel at managing projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and delivering results independently. These proficiencies enable remote engineers to effectively solve complex engineering problems while collaborating seamlessly in a distributed work environment.

What are some typical challenges faced by remote chemical engineers, and how are they addressed?

Remote chemical engineers often face challenges related to communication, real-time collaboration, and accessing on-site data or equipment. To address these, companies usually implement robust virtual collaboration platforms, remote monitoring systems, and regular video meetings to keep everyone aligned. Successful remote engineers proactively clarify project expectations, organize their workflow, and maintain open communication with colleagues across various departments. This ensures effective project execution and minimizes misunderstandings despite the physical distance from manufacturing sites or research facilities.

Job description

NobleAI is a Science-Based AI platform that predicts complex systems, helping companies accelerate discovery, improve product and asset performance, and drive measurable commercial results across energy, chemistry, and manufacturing.
NobleAI turns sparse, multi-source industrial data into predictive models and decision-grade insights. By combining physics and chemistry expertise with advanced machine learning, our platform improves resource recovery, asset performance, and product quality. We serve companies that rely on precise formulations and material composition to determine product performance, safety, and regulatory compliance for their chemical products. For those producing physical products at scale, we help ensure that ingredients, materials, and formulations drive quality, consistency, speed-to-market, and margin. Our solutions are also vital for companies developing energy products or managing energy assets, where throughput, recovery, and operational reliability directly impact revenue and asset economics.
We're a team of excellence-driven individuals who value thoughtfulness and respect while focusing on delivering products that empower engineers and researchers to create better solutions faster.
We're seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our team in the greater Houston area. This role will work with Sales, Product, and AI/Research teams to understand and meet customer needs, demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our products to prospective clients, and assist in selling complex scientific and technological solutions. The ideal candidate has experience in enterprise software solutions and professional services, solid hands-on technical skills, and preferably a background in Energy. They should possess a strong drive to achieve sales and business development goals and excellent interpersonal and customer success skills.
If you have a passion for solving industry challenges with real impact, let's talk! Join us in building a more sustainable world through the power of AI and scientific innovation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Present and demonstrate NobleAI VIP Platform capabilities to potential clients
  • Collaborate with the sales team and be the technology evangelist for NobleAI solutions

  • 5+ years of experience in technical consulting, business development, sales, forward deployed engineering or solutions-focused marketing. Minimum 2 years of technical experience and 3 years in a customer-facing position.
  • Proven ability to create new business opportunities and drive measurable results via consultative/solution selling.
  • Strong business acumen: can clearly communicate complex technical concepts, develop relationships, and tell the big-picture story.
  • Experience engaging customers, supporting pre-sales, or excelling in customer success; skilled communicator with both clients and teams.
  • Expertise in upstream or downstream energy-can speak the language of NobleAI's core domains.
  • Familiarity with SaaS applications and deployment.
  • Strong Understanding of machine learning concepts and data science tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Collaborates comfortably with AI scientists, ML engineers, and across functional teams.
