• Conduct comprehensive ongoing assessments of clients to identify their mental health needs, ensuring tailored care approaches.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors, direct care staff, family members, and other stakeholders regarding clients' progress, facilitating coordinated care.
• Draft and provide a tentative schedule for upcoming appointments, home visits, and monitoring observations to optimize client engagement and treatment effectiveness.
• Coordinate and execute home visits as needed to perform in-home observations, conduct chart reviews, and analyze data to inform treatment plans.
• Ensure that program plans are being implemented effectively in accordance with clinical standards and organizational goals.
• Actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, contributing insights and collaborating on treatment strategies.
• Prepare and complete monthly and quarterly progress notes reflecting client advancements and areas for further focus.
• Organize and provide training for staff members to certify them in the implementation of treatment plans and accurate documentation procedures.
• Conduct follow-up interviews and home visits as necessary, ensuring continued support for clients' evolving needs.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records that are accessible to interested parties, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a liaison to the public and the mental health community, promoting support and resources that align with individual development goals.
• Assist in the creation of training materials aimed at improving program offerings and resource utilization for clients.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Riverwoods Academy, you will work with a diverse client base, ranging from children to adults, facing various mental health challenges. Your role will be integral in addressing issues such as family dynamics, trauma, and substance abuse, ensuring that clients receive the personalized and empathetic care they require.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
• Must hold an active and unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Kansas.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a clinical setting, demonstrating hands-on proficiency and knowledge.
• Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse, or trauma is highly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of legal and ethical standards in mental health practices, ensuring compliant and responsible client care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building and maintaining rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach to client care.
• Competency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and related technologies necessary for efficient documentation and client tracking.

• A background in therapeutic interventions focusing on trauma and family systems is advantageous.
• Experience working with a diverse population, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity in a clinical context.
